I was wrong. The console is smooth and the door panel is textured. Strange, but I am glad the console is smooth.

Well, someone predicted the 18's would debut at the Texas St. fair and here is one. It would be interesting to see if it is tuned any better.

Doesn't show much but there is a drone view of the cavalry blue on the 4runner and a banner showing the TRD pro Tacoma

Good question. Plus, will they wheel and deal a little bit on the new 2018's when they arrive or are we going to be fisted at full MSRP?

So, for the hell of it today I drove over to the nearest Toyota dealer and walked around the lot checking out the Tacomas. Now, I am 100% dead set on buying a 2018 ASAP but I am getting impatient so it's fun to look. The thing is, there was a HUGE supply of 2017's stuck on the lot. I counted about 80. Seriously. The last time I was there in the early summer there were like 10 or 15.

So I don't know if people are just waiting for the 18's and not buying the 17's or what. Maybe they will have some decent price cuts on the older models? But for me the question is...will Toyota dealers negotiate on the newer 2018's when they arrive with all that old inventory of 17's?

I was able to put down a deposit last month for a 2018 TRD PRO in Cavalry Blue, with the 6-speed manual. They assured me they could get one, but said it could take up to 8-10 months. There is a chance they could see one sooner, but the dealer didn't want to overpromise.

I don't mind driving my current work vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Renegade (75th Edition, Jungle Green, 4x4, 6-speed manual), so I'm not in a huge rush. At this point, I'd almost prefer if it didn't arrive until Spring. It sucks getting a new car in the middle of a Wisconsin winner.

The dealership I'm working with offered me $4k off an Inferno TRD Sport with a 6-speed manual. It was tempting, but I really wanted leather and the Cavalry Blue.

Hell yea, I bet they did! I bet I could work a ridiculously good deal right about now. I smell a killer deal possible. But, like you, I am patiently waiting for all the upgrades like leather, safety, LED lights, and other updates. To me, it's well worth it at this point.

I got my 17 for invoice last year in September.
You go to the right dealer, and they just want move a unit. It doesn't start to make them any real money till it's off the lot anyways, so they don't really care.

A cement sport with chrome rear bumper and color matched fenders and chin would be a beautiful ride.

In my situation, we agreed I'd pay Toyota's advertised MSRP price. No markup, no discounts. After a dealer trying to charge me $3k over MSRP on a 2017 TRD PRO, I'm good with that.

It's crazy how much some dealers move on vehicles when the next model year hits the lot. I bought my 2016 Renegade a year ago to this day, and the 2017s were out. I got it for $24,300 with 0% financing, and MSRP was $28,800. It was one of two in the country configured how I wanted it (hard to find the manual transmission with 4x4), and I even got the dealer to drive the car to Wisconsin from Indianapolis for me.

It's amazing what kind of deal you can get when you A) ask, and B) show you're not interested if that offer can't be met.

Also check the headlights and tail lights to see if they are led. Take lots of pictures.
