You can get new shocks (they actually aren't a strut, although most call them that) your springs would be fine with that few miles on them. Mine have 235k km and are fine. They aren't sagging or broken, not much can go wrong with a coil spring. Don't pay dealer that much for a simple spring compression and removal of 2 shocks.

Just got off the phone with the Dealership, my truck is done. I'll pick it up in the morning.
Other than the muffler and the shocks, that I requested them to do, no other uncovered parts needed. that's about all I know at this time

Lots of good posts these few days.
It's good to see the ball rolling with these replacements.
I was told about a week more, last week.
I have 1 tech doing my swap and I pity him. My undercarriage was completely rotted and assume the bolts are gonna be in worse shape. :annoyed:

Was just wondering how much did you pay for your shocks?

My dealership called me around 5 today to tell me my truck was done, no uncovered parts. which i find hilarious as i know for a fact that there were some replaced and broken bolts, and my swaybar weld nuts were cut out and replaced with SAE hardware. but i guess ill see when i get it back.

I am wicked happy! Just picked up my truck from the dealership. Looks good, rides good, drives true down the highway. Seems to sit a bit higher and rides stiffer.
Long list of covered parts, nuts, bolts, brackets, hangers, new spare tire carrier. Bunch of nuts and bolts that had to be shipped over from Japan.
My costs were for replacing the rear shocks for 162.00, NO labor. Replace the muffler and tail pipe for $830, $705 for parts and $125.00 for labor. $54.23 for tax. Both requested by me.
Driving through the lot I counted 20 new frames awaiting replacement. I was told the two technicians are getting the job done in one day, as Toyota is paying the dealer 40 Hours for the job, the dealer has to be making a small fortune.

Picked mine up this morning, not super pleased, but oh well. They left the power steering resivior open, so the fluid spilled everywhere when I left. Had to get that topped up. Noticed something dangling when I parked at work, the tag lights and 7 pin harness didn't get plugged back in. There's also a new shake in the steering wheel that wasnt present before, although I'm not sure if that's mechanical or not yet. Other than that all seems well, they replaced the swayabr hardware and the busted stud for the recovery bar without charge, so I'll call it even unless I find more things later.

You should be concern about the shake. Take it back as soon as possible

Yeah, not much I can do about it until Monday because of my work schedule. I'll be going through the truck tonight and checking all of the hardware and components

Steering wheel shake seemed to just be a tire inflation or wear thing, it's fine now. However, they also forgot to plug the goddamn foglights back in.

I'm worried what else the techs overlooked during reassembly...Maybe Toyota can offer a extended warranty to cover future problems you may encounter due to the swap.

The dealership already has a 24 month unlimited mileage warranty on all the work they did, so I'm not terribly concerned with that. I will be calling them today or Monday and letting them know they goofed.

I made an appointment to bring my truck back to the dealer for later on this week. Over the weekend I discovered the fog lights are unplugged, going to let them fix this, after replacing the brake lines and fluid the brakes are soft, again I'll let them take care of this. I also chastised them about giving the truck back to me being filthy rotten dirty, greasy hand prints on the hood, rusty, greasy dirty hand prints on the bed. Told him I know you must have someone working there who's job it is to wash cars, after a job like this you should have it done. He said "Ya, we've had a few complaints about that"
