I never leave for a trail without that sucker..

Here's a situation that is very likely to happen that will require a 1/2 impact that some will never think of, someone in the group breaks a rear gear set in a remote location like Saline Valley for example, really really far from pavement no matter what direction you go. That would be an impossibly slow drive back to Big Pine on a busted gear set that can possibly cause damage to other drive line components along the way back and not forgetting to mention will save the bearings in the 3rd member. Solution? remove the 3rd member in order to remove the ring gear from the carrier, reinstall carrier minus ring gear back to the 3rd member and then reinstall the 3rd back onto the axle housing. A potential trail fix that will get you back to the highway. It would be an absolute struggle without a proper way to hold and secure the 3rd member while trying to break loose and remove the ring bolts that hold the ring to the carrier using a breaker bar. And I doubt a 3/8 will have the balls to break those bolts loose either.

I just got the Dewalt 20v 1/2 for swapping out my engine to make sure I could get the bell housing bolts out. I hemmed and hawed about the price at $350 for the complete one with battery charger and bag, but went with it. I really didn't want to mess around with any potential issues in the middle of my project.

If I just wanted one to have around the house I might consider that HF one - lots of pros use HF tools since they can usually replace them cheaply and possibly have found ways to fix them if they break past the warranty period. I know Eric O at South Main Auto on YouTube uses a 1/4" HF impact along with his bigger tool truck drivers.

Youtube search comparisons with the HF and other name brands, that claimed 1200ftlbs is pretty much fact.
A lot of the pits crews had them at the Vegas to Reno race with no complaints. And most likely they will be going into our pit boxes, chase truck and 6100 truck in time for the Parker Race. When you have to outfit several pit boxes, and what not that $250 bucks for each one adds up a lot when compared to Snap-On which is close to 700 bucks each.
