    ? Just skids. The other truck was a 4 cyl so to make the trans skid fit I had to cut it and add 2" I just cut the 2" out and burned it back together idk what's fancy simple stuff really

    Great write up.

    Could I just sand with 1500 grit and reclear to fix the shitty clear coat on my flares? Also, what's the reducer that you mentioned?

    I wet sanded once with a 800grit paper to correct a clear coat and it got the job done nicely, but I'll let @Casper66 answer on it since he is a pro!

    Great write up! I'll be saving that one for later! Now just out of curiosity. If it were on a metal part of the body like the fender and a big portion was worn down to bare metal, would u use an adhesion promoter or a self etching primer? I'm assuming that you used an adhesion promoter due to the fact it was plastic?

    I don't remember the name on the spray bomb but my father is using some kind of zinc primer on bare metal, to give adhesion to the primer. I don't know if it is really necessery and if @Casper66 does use it tho...

    Just use a mild enamel reducer you don't need anything harsh. 1500 is ok but if the clear is failing you'll have to sand back to where it stops peeling and feather all the edges really well. Base coat is fairly easy to sand through so be careful. For reclearing 600-800 is good only problem is it'll sand through the base easier

    We use adhesion promoter on metal and plastic. If you have a large area worn down to bare metal I'd prime first and block the area to insure it's straight and you don't have any lows then spray with adhesion promoter and color. Do not use adhesion promoter if only reclearing it sometimes discolors the clear

    Don't use an adhesion promoter to just spray clear as it can discolor it. If you have a place that's not visible or something laying around you can spray you can try a spot with and with out and see what happens

    Mineral spirits ar ok but I prefer a mild reducer aka paint thinner just get a small can of enamel reducer/ thinner or if you feel more comfortable with it they make a pre paint cleaner that you can even get in aerosol. I was in westmoreland camping all weekend sorry it took so long to reply. James was there with us check out the camper build

    Ok so the gathering of fluids and materials to change all fluids has begun, I have a fumoto valve and just ordered 4 qts of Redline MT-90 for the transmission and t-case now I'll order diff fluids when I figure out which ones to get.
