My Home town. Looks like the fabric wrap on the 6-pack needs to be replace, the earlier Old Style was painted, and was updated as needed, they instead made the fabric wrap.

Dave's Guitar, one of the largest guitar shops in the world and possibly the largest private guitar collection on display is just down the street.

Edit: just noticed on the second picture the "can" on the back wasn't covered so you can still read "Pure Artesian spring water" from the original Old Style.

 

Are you sure you aren't assuming lactose because of Cow?

Ahhh as a youth.. my parents took us to Lacrosse when I was 6. Somewhere is a picture of my sister and I in front of the old style 6pack. Rumor had it Lacrosse beer was using the original old style beer recipe. That got shut down once old style did a limited original recipe runs.

 

I'm skeptical of rumors like that. In reality there isn't really much to a standard American Premium Lager recipe. How much Barley vs Corn or Rice, , quality of the malt, hops are so low that a broad range of hop varieties are used without much concern and yeast is the other variable and they probably use the same lager yeast strain for all the beers produced in La Crosse. I bet all the beers made for Pabst use the same yeast.

I know the new Old Style Oktoberfest beer is brewed in La Crosse and possibly a lot of the standard Old Style too.

 

Yep, i know.. it's a rumor I heard when I stopped at Lacrosse brewery in July.

I'm thinking if a milk stout that I though was new Glarus.

Whatever it was it was, I could have sworn it was named spotted cow and it had a ton of lactose. I can't seem to find it on google.

I have a splitting headache caused by a night of beer. This image has pushed me into the aneurysm zone. Only one solution.

 

Heading out on a picnic hike. Redboy pizza being delivered to a park at the other end. Bringing a couple homebrews, an American pale ale and a chocolate porter.

Only sold in Wisconsin. I'd trade some Karl Strauss For spotted cow. Was in San Diego in September last year and had a few dozen.

 

A new to me IPA. Good but not my favorite.

 

My wife's co-worker knows I'm on a beer kick lately, so she gave my wife something for me.

She gave her one of those Stella Artois cups that supposedly are made/meant to go in the freezer, for when you want to have a beer. Guess she had some, so gave her one for me.

Having some Founders in it right now.

I don't recommend putting your glassware in the freezer, unless you're going to pour a coors in to it. When the ice melts off of it, it releases all the contaminates and smells that are in your freezer and in to your beer.

 

Ah fuck. Good to know. Never knew that, or even thought about it.

Isn’t the gold rim supposed to do something? The brain cells that recalled that have been killed off.

 

Not sure to be honest. Never really seen these cups before. Not much of a Stella admirer.

 

Frozen glassware is only good for coors. My glass always stays room temperature and gets a rinsing before each use. If it's been a week or more since I've used a piece of glass it gets a full washing before use. When you pour a beer and you see the bubbles sticking to the sides of the glass, that's debris and means your glass isn't clean
