    Check The Build Thread
I'd go with resi all the time if it's an option. A resi has so much more benefit than pecker size, bro status, etc. You said you were going to rebuild them yourself so the price to rebuild is negligible since a rebuild kit is ~$20-$30 per shock. The adjusters on the other hand, a waste of money for sure. Get them valved right from the beginning and you'll never have to even think about turning that knob.

The biggest factor here is, what brand are you planning on and how soon will you be going to LT? If going with LT sooner than later, why even go beyond the OMEs?

My question is if arguing that resis aren't necessary in alabama....then why do you think LT is?

It's a good question for sure. A resi and non resi shock have the same dampening effect in them. Now ride will break down as heat increases, but I digress.

Maybe our resident dampening expert @h.zack801 can school us with what he thinks.

I was literally about to say that the argument that not needing reservoirs means you also don't need LT is not viable, because there's a reason LTs exist without. There are applications where a resi is desired, where you need increased heat dissipation. This is obviously indicative of rally, baja, etc. that experience tons of 'road disturbance' excitation all across the spectrum at high speeds.

If your main goals are to ignore speed bumps and potholes, there's no need for a reservoir.

Also. I'm not an expert @Sandytaco14. Not yet anyways. :D

I still think the real question is why not just go to LT?

I somewhat agree, if this is the planned end goal anyway.

I have to upgrade to 700# springs, and I hate the OME. Also LT is probably 4-5 years away. So I want to upgrade, now that I type that I think I should go with the resi.

    I am going with Radflo.

Not sure if temperature effects the shocks getting hot but I could see Alabama summers affecting that if so:rofl:

Well because I would rather spend the money on armour before LT.

No man, the hydraulic fluid inside gets hot. The reason a damper works is the force of the fluid resisting the movement of the piston in the tube. This creates heat in the fluid. When you add a reservoir, it gives you more fluid to use, meaning a lower average temp and keeps the fluid from foaming up and being ineffective.
