    Hey great info, I used it when doing mine today and it was very helpful. However, since I have a 4 cyl, the routing and location of some of the items are different. The tensioner is on the left side as opposed to the right side (looking at the engine) and no pin is needed. I took some pictures and am going to do a post for 4 cyl changes.

    Made it is is called "Serpentine belt replacement 4 cyl specific" I can attach pictures but apparently am too stupid to link a post to another post.

    It could be worse. A number of vehicles have a motor mount inside the belt loop. You get to take the motor mount loose, raise the engine with a floor jack, just to get the belt in and out. Tacoma is a 10 minute job if you are slow...

    This may be a real stupid question, but how much do you re-tighten the tensioner when new belt is installed?

    When you put the wrench on it and push, you wind up the spring and take the tension off the belt. When you release the wrench, it applies tension to the belt all by itself.

    I changed mine today. Took maybe 30 minutes. This original post was great along with this video. https://youtu.be/V67u-wf6iY0

    For me it was much easier doing this from below the truck. 157k miles with the original belt (2005). As the video points out, spin the bearings and listen for the ‘skateboard’ wheel sound. I’ll be adding 2 bearing replacements to the todo list now...

    Just did mine yesterday 156k on the original belt. Small cracks here and there but nothing serious. Kept the old one as a spare. Took about 35 minutes. Attack it from the bottom, not the top
