@Basikbiker Are steel wheels any better for what you are looking for or do they not offer any benefit over alloys when hitting things hard and fast in the desert?

Right - I know that they're maleable so they can be bent back, I didn't know if that's only of benefit for rock crawling vs. desert racing.

Also a pretty good example of a beadlock doing its job, tire stayed attached even under heavy damage

Completely agree with you! Just saying these hang out and get scratched on everything. While it's cool and shows that you wheel and all that, I don't wanna break a wheel down in Mexico hauling ass in the middle of nowhere.

When the fo lock bolts are removed on the ray-10's the outer most part of the rim look a lot like rock rings - My OCD just wants to do something about the holes lol

True beadlocks shouldn't stick out much (if any) further than the lip on a conventional wheel. I don't think mine stick out any further than the conventional set I had.

I've never seen how faux locks are mounted. Do they bolt onto the lip of the wheel?

That's pretty much how the Toyota ones are. The lip is wider and thicker to allow for the bolts. They're just holding the ring so not much "meat" is needed for the bolts.

The fo wheels have the lip, then the fake ring so it's wide for sure. Traditional beadlocks, all I have used are like a normal wheels for sure.

I have had bolts come loose. Have to check torque on all the bolts occasionally if your really preping the truck. Just a lot depending on how you like to maintain your rigs.

I thought at least 1 retorque was required since the tire needs to "seat" after it has been spun around for a couple hundred miles? The centrifugal force will put the bead where it wants to be. I don't think lock washers can account for the bead shifting around. Mine needed to be retorqued at least once every time I have removed them.

Maybe different style of clamp surfaces loosen up easier?
