It did fine in Big Bear last weekend. I went with this style because I didn't want to drill in to my roof. That second one you linked from PCI, I couldn't tell by the picture on the website, but does it connect the same way I use currently, just a twist on to a stud?

I ran 1 coax (two radios) and power through this grommet hole:

I removed the grommet and used canned black gasket material to seal the hole and protect the wires and coax from abrasion from the sheet metal.

The coax then runs behind the p/s kick panel, under the sill plastic, under the pass seat, then up to the radio.

It would be the style that mounts through the roof called an NMO mount, but can easily be made to work in your application. I can help you with soldering the mount if you ever go that way which I recommend anyways. I have made a few coax cables and havnt had any troubles with them.

Cool, thanks. I'll probably run this antenna for a while since I just got it and see how t does. When it's time to upgrade I'll definitely hit you up for some assistance

Nice. I've used mine for sending emails when I didn't have cell service, but the ability to text back and forth is pretty cool. I need to try that out now.

I've had my eyes on the D710 for a while now. On the long short list...

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Make sure your coax ain't touching your power wires...

    Good write up
