    I've seen that list before, liquid wrench was the most accessible lol.

    Problem I'm having now is I can't get my UCA to separate from my UBJ ad it's pissing me off. Been beating the shot outta it trying to get it to pop. Gonna go buy a pitman puller tomorrow.

    Think the atf mixture would actually help with that??

    It might. Worth a shot. I generally use a gear puller to pop mine out (ball joint studs and tie rod studs) if they don't come apart within a few solid impacts.

    That list isn't just bullshit. The ATF/Acetone mix really is all that. It's not hard to find either. The acetone you could get in the form of nail polish remover at the grocery store or drug store, or you could get actual acetone at the home center (Lowe's, HD, ACE), the auto parts store, and maybe Walmart. The ATF you could get just about anywhere, if you don't have some sitting around (you're supposed to use it in the power-steering pump on Tacomas so ya should have some even if you don't have an automatic transmission). You'd just need to get a small old-skool oil can with a metal nozzle. Don't get one with the flexible plastic hose/nozzle because the mix will eat that thing right off.

    Interesting... didn't know you could use ATF for the power steering fluid.

    Im headed to harbor freight to buy a pitman puller or whatever its called. Hoping it'll work. Heat isn't doing shit either. Will probably. Buy some atf/acetone while I'm out as well. Worst case I'll just remove the UCA with the spindle lol

    IIRC, it says right on it use ATF and not to use PS fluid. It's my understanding that PS fluid will damage the system.

    I'm gonna have to try that. The other one was too narrow. Seriously pissing me off. Acetone/atf didn't help, heat didn't help. All I'm doing is damaging my UCA.

    Hopefully I can find a local 2 jaw puller and try that. Don't know why this is so difficult :frusty:. At this rate it won't be fixed I'n time for Citrus :annoyed:

    They have'em at Harbor Freight, but I think you have to buy 3 different sizes in a pack. You may want to try Pep Boys or something to see if getting just one puller might be cheaper than buying Harbor Frieght's 3 pack.

    Anyway, what I do is get the thing on there and put some tension on it and if it doesn't pop loose (you'll wanna leave the nut threaded on so shit don't go flying) by the time I crank it down good and tight, I give the UCA a sharp wack with a hammer and that's usually enough to get it to let go.

    After you get it loose and are going back together with it, clean the hole up good with some emery cloth or Scotch-bright and give it a light coat of ATF in both the stud hole and the BJ stud. That should let it come apart easier the next time. Do so with the tie rod end stud and the hole for it in the LBJ as well.

    Thanks for the advice. I went through all of this back in march when I installed the lift and it's a bigger pain now then in was then.

    Pep boys charges the same price for one that harbor freight charges for the three pack. I doubt the quality is THAT different lol
