I'd suggest really reviewing your insurance. If something goes bad in life you might be up a creek. Many policies will remove all coverage for heavy modifications if the insurance comany isn't notified of them or they view it as fraud. So paying 2wd rates on a 4wd vehicle might end up biting you in the butt. Ymmv but I'd check into it to make sure I'm covered in case I cause some life changing harm to someone else and really need the coverage.

    Pretty much stock right now
No, not new. It was about 10 years old when I bought it. It had no power options, had a 60/40 seat, steel wheels, trd badging and an elocker. It was my first Tacoma, and at the time I didn't know what it was for.

Of course. I'm in California so it's registered as a commercial vehicle anyway and I plan on updating it to reflect the 4x4. Im just saying people have done that in the past - just not me.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I call the automatic a "girl thing". Sorry ladies, it's because of my wife. I had a reg cab, 4x4, 4cyl with 5sp. We both loved the truck. And her car is a 3 series Bimmer convertible. We could go and or park wherever we wanted, not a worry about the truck. We even towed a Casita trailer from time to time. But she wouldn't drive the stick. Bugged me for an auto. Finally ended up moving to a dcab, cause the grandsons always wanted to go fishing. Sure miss the little guy.

I would've loved a manual if I didn't live in California. I DD my truck and a lot of my commute time is spent in traffic - not very fun with a stick shift especially in San Francisco.
