Does any of this come in an aerosol can? I don't have a sprayer. Looking to get something I can buff and polish afterwards.. not sure if this is the right stuff.

On the undercarriage? Show truck? It's gonna take more than a rust encapsulator to get you ribbons.

Here is an alternative product to POR-15. Not saying it's better or worse, just know it's very good, and might be worth pricing out before deciding.

Eh that's the goal but I don't intend to ever take it to (lol..) a truck show. I just really really enjoy a clean truck. I'll check it out. I guess worst case I pull the bed and cab and awl grip the frame (cruiseship paint)

And if I do.. write up inbound:D

@SeNate Excellent write up! Newbie question here, can you coat the leaf springs in Por15?

Nice work! I've been on vacation so this is the first time back to this thread.

It's nice to see others doing this. So many poor Tacoma's out there with ugly frames.

Thanks for posting, it'll keep this thread alive and more people might realize they can do it too!

You could, but I'm not sure how you'll get between the springs unless you take them off. I can't vouch for the flexibility of the paint, so what I would personally do is get new leafsprings and coat them in fluid film.

or take them off and soak the hell out of them in phosphoric acid and see if there is a special paint for leafsprings.

Can you apply POR15 over bolts and rubber parts? I'm now trying to coat those but if they get some POR15 on them while I am painting the main components will that cause any trouble later? I am worried about bolts seizing together with the POR15 or rubber deteriorating because of POR15. I plan to do this to most of the major components and the frame of my truck.

I'm more concerned with the front portion of the vehicle where the ball joints meet the control arms etc.

I would tape off bolts. POR 15 is very, very strong. Once it gets on something and is cured it's hell to get off.

I would assume it would wear out rubber components, too

I did this with my 1st gen and then fluid filmed it and it's still holding up. 2nd gen hasn't needed anything but fluid film and frame still looks great
