Towing long distance

    Timbers you say. Flat bed tandem trailers tow really nice. I tow near the max regularly without issue. Unless this is your first time towing, you'll be fine. Towing heavy isn't the problem... towing heavy too fast can be. Also, if you're over 3000 lbs, you need trailer brakes... which includes a brake controller installed in your truck.

    This is loaded too far forward! Too much tongue load takes weight off the front end resulting in poor braking and steering. The car is front heavy already!

    This^ I would check your suspension and your bump stops. For next time try to remember to only load about 10-15% of your trailer onto the tongue.
