Welp, if we can't hit the 25% I'm gonna have to jump ship, as the timing is a bit off for me as well. That and the shipping would be the killer here, but I'll hold out for the possibility that we can get this thing to work.

 

How close to 25% are we?
Im willing to hold out a few weeks to hit the goal if need be. Im in no rush.

 

If we hold out any longer I am out. I have a build to do in 2 weeks.

 

I think we can make the 25% We just need to keep the word out untill the order closes to catch any stragglers wanting to get in.

 

I'm thinking about jumping in on this, but based on the list on the front page, you're only at the 15% discount level (10 green lights). If I committed, that would put you to 11 which would drive it to the 20% discount, but you've already got people saying they're dropping if it's not at the 25% discount which would drop it back down.

I presume these are shipped through a freight company. If I told them to ship to the local PO would that be considered a business address? I can't have things shipped to my work, and the driver that delivered my bumper had me meet him at the local PO.

 

I'm still on the fence, looks like one other Salt Lake guy is in... anyone else form Utah on the fence? It'd be nice if we could combine shipping and get that knocked down.

There's a few people in here mentioning toppers (or maybe it should just you a couple times) so I'll say this.

The topper will work with the bedsides. But! It would be very smart to brace it somehow. I have McNeil bedsides on mine that are really thick. When you remove the steel bedsides you lose a lot of strength on the bed. On top of my bedsides that I have a kbvoodoo bedrack (this was done unloaded as I didn't dare to load the tent yet). Probably similar in weight to a topper. Even on road if I would hit a series of bumps (like those big road reflector things) I could see the whole bed wiggling around. After I braced it the problem went away.

So just keep that in mind. I really didn't want to brace mine because I'm lazy, but in the end I didn't have a choice.

I did two.

First off took all of the weight off of the fiberglass and did this. Doing this alone made a pretty big difference. But you are still bolting to composite material.


For the other I just dropped some tube straight from the rack down to my bedcage. I only did the front so far and it's holding up fine.
