Accidentally posted this in the MGM thread so once again...

Got my front mount on today. I like the fit with my little plow and push frame. Mouth of the receiver is set back a good 3 inches from the front of the license plate so its not super noticeable.

Just for peace of mind, Changed the oil at 15.5k: Toyota Filter and Motul Eco-Lite 0w-20. Took a sample and sending off to Blackstone to see how it fared and gauge what kind of intervals I'll be going with in the future.

FWIW I assumed Toyota dealer would use GTMO but when I picked up my wife Prius last month I noticed thru the service window a BIG stack of Mobil-1 0w-20... Makes me suspect they are using M1 not GTMO. Not that is really a bad thing, but a little disappointing.

Yep. I ditched the air dam first week of ownership so it was a non-issue. Used to have a similar hitch on my F1shitty and the air dam was trimmed around it ok. Hitch was a POS though...matched the truck in that respect :)

Around 10 years ago I had a 5000 pound boat that I moved into tight quarters with a Harbor Freight trailer dolly. Sure wish I had a front hitch back then. That was a bear moving by hand.

I can imagine. My only boat is a kayak but I do have a 200 yard driveway and lots of snow every year :) I used to snowblow it instead. Would take any where from 3 to 6 hours depending on the snow conditions.

New member, always appreciate the info people share so I thought I'd do my part for anyone who wants the same setup/parts.

    Truck:
2017 Tacoma trd off road 6 speed manual access cab

    Front end:
887 coils, ome nitrogen sport shocks
    Rear end:
Ready lift 2" block, ome nitrogen sport shocks
    Wheels/tires: 285/70/17 bfg ko2's on 17x7 trd pro 4Runner wheels

Truck rides beauty, tires don't run and aren't noisy in my opinion. Truck feels slightly less peppy with the bigger tires but nothing to complain about. Went with the 2" block over rear springs for my style of driving really, don't need the extra leafs. Thanks again

so seeing as how i'm on a tight budget for a while, i'll be fabbing my own steel bumper and tent rack for the bed to save some money. I have a friend who is an amazing fabricator and has a shop to do it all. I'll help but mostly watch once the welding starts......
anyways...i want a real minimal push bar up front...like a mild stinger. just basically want something to beef up the front of the truck incase i need to run over some Berkeley protestors or something...a Hippie Deflector of sorts, and mount a couple of hella lights.
I am not sure how it will mount to the frame with that stupid front bumper piece, and i imagine i'll either be removing it, or making a cut-out from it to mount the bumper. The rest of the front end will not be modified like most aftermarket bumpers require.
So....your thoughts please- does it look okay considering it could have been a 12 year old who drew this? The part i want to add/build is in orange....
lemme know what you think20171001_144300.jpg 20171001_144304.jpg

Make sure you bring these basic things with you every time you get offroad! Hang around for the sweet Hilux concept in the outro.
