I just bought a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off-road. I am thinking about adding some lights to my hinges. What's the best light setup (with hinge mount) and where are you putting your on/off switches? Thanks in advance.

Hey Shane, by hinges do you mean hood hinges area so ditch lights? If so, we have tons of options for those. See below for pics.

Do you have any specific lighting needs (such as ditch lights to illuminate the roadsides for wildlife/obstruction, short to mid-range for general lighting, long range for high speed off roading, etc..)?

One common thing is to put a 30" bar just below the grille in that open valence area. Ditch lights are also super common lately, but just know that if you choose a bigger light here, it will obstruct more of your line of sight than a small light.

In my second gen Tacoma, I use the Carling rocker switches in my cab and it is located just above my cup holders. Many people on third gens are using the Switch Pros system and then mounting that controller to the left of the steering wheel. @XPOTRPR makes a ton of options for these so you could mount it in various places.

Here's some ideas to get your wheels turnin.
This is @obz running the stealthy look 30" bar in the lower valence.

Here is the Icon Vehicle Dynamics 3rd gen running our Pro6 light bar on the roof for the ultimate in long range. It also has our dual FLEX lights at ditch lights simar to what you may be looking for.

Taylor, thanks for the help. Bottom pic is where I'm headed... (long term goals) so the dual flex lights are KC Lights? I really appreciate the help and photos.

The roof bar is pretty sweet. I have it too.

Also those ditch lights. I might have to swap mine out.

    No problem, happy to help.

Yes sir! The Flex singles or duals make for great ditch lights. We have a ton of options though, all LEDs. The FLEX line is nice as they're very bright (3900 lumens per kit), can be used in amber or clear with an amber colored shield we also make, and are low profile. FLEX dual link

If you're looking for standard 3" x 3" cube light, we make the C-Series cube and the LZR series cube. The LZR packs nearly double the punch (almost 3904 lumens for the kit) for only $35 more for both lights at MSRP of $199.99. LZR link and the C-Series link.

Finally, if you want something street legal but very bright, our G34 light is great. It's a 3" tall by 4" wide light. 4600 lumens for the kit in driving beam. It's also super bright and available in driving, wide-40, or fog beam patterns. Gravity LED G34 link

Haha the flex duals are awesome. I've also been wondering why the LZRs aren't as popular as the C-Series? They're only $200 for the two light kit and each light has 1,952 lumens.

Dammit. I havent installed my CS yet. Now i want thr lzr

I think they havent been as popular is the look. The CS look like what everyone is familiar LZRs remind me of that Jersey blow out hair style. Plus only avail in spot, is that what everyone is buying.

Anyone want buy my CS? They are the flood version.

    Must resist those flex duals.

I don't need to replace my current ditch lights. I don't need to replace my current ditch lights. I don't need to replace my current ditch lights. I don't need to replace my current ditch lights

@forty2 makes these panels to replace your cubby on the left of your steering wheel, cleanest switch placement for 3rd gen I think.20170925_182215.jpg
