Welp I fucked up pretty nicely last week. Me and my buddies where out jackin around filming a movie for a school project which involved a car chase. And what better chase car is there to use than Bayne's Black bad ass Tacoma?? So in short, there was some scenes where my buddy was in the bed of my truck holding my m4A1 (not loaded) and wearing a tactical vest with empty metal magazines in the front pockets. So we didn't realize our mistake until after we finished shooting. My buddy in the back was being jostled around in the bed as we drove down the roads. He was trying his best to brace himself on the back of the cab and point the rifle forward. While this was happening however, those metal mags in the tac vest where digging right into the paint on the back of the cab by the moving truck and weight of a 6 foot tall man.

So some of the scratches aren't terrible (passed the finger nail test). But some where nasty deep and are going to require more than some buffing and touch up paint.

My question to y'all is how do I go about filling in these deep scratches and basically repair the paint back to looking as normal as possible? What products and procedures would y'all recommend?

Side note: the movie is going to be absolutely bad ass. The Taco, in one scene, comes barreling down this huge hill and gets some air in persuit of the little Honda Civic and it's looks kick ass :transformer:

Can probably use a fine cut polisher. If its deep, need a touch up paint pen

Do you recommend a fine cut polish? Also, is the stealership the best place to get touchup paint or should I get a paint pen from somewhere else?

If its just the clear coat and surface scratches try a fine cut polish, if its deep and through the paint, i got my toyota mgm pen from Amazon for about 11 bucks

Yeah sounds like a hell of a time to me. During my last deployment that I just got home from I had the opportunity to go out with airfield management and shoot birds around the flight line. That's the only time I will be able to shoot a 12 gauge shotgun out of a moving vehicle without getting arrested. It was a lot of fun. Your project sounds similar.

Whatever you do please go with the OEM toyota paint pen, especially for black. Please dont try and use nail polish.. i bought my used taco this year and the previous owner decided to use a different color red (most likely nail polish) to touch up scratches on the truck.. it drives me crazy now.. especially when the toyota paint pens arent more than 15 bucks..:annoyed:
