Have you looked into what those stock tires will look like with the lift?

You you might want to look into a 265, but I understand why you would want the 245s.

The AT 0015 245/75e has the same diameter as the 265/70 and can fit on a 8" wide rim. After I posted this I found some 265/70 tires cheaper...

Yes I have seen some and yes it looks funky. The "0" offset of the rim should help.

Love the SR in that color! I wonder if that's the rarest color in SR? Must be, most all of what I see is white, silver, and MGM

Thinking to upgrade to a 255/80/17 on my SR. Anyone have any feedback or experience with that tire size.

This is gonna be more of a question for the 4 cylinder owners running a bigger tire. I currently have 265/70r17 that are 55lbs a piece. I need a new set of tires and wanting a set of 285s that weigh roughly 44lbs a piece. I don't want to kill my gas mileage a lot because I commute back and forth from school. Is anyone running a similar size tire and know what kind of mileage you get?

Almost 1 year to the day since taking ownership. Exterior mods are basically finished. I may throw on some TRD-OR billies if they pop up for sale in my area, but my vision is complete.

    Love that front bumper man!

    Your truck looks great!

Between the MGM and the BRM I may try a new color if I commit to a 3rd Gen. :burnrubber:

For those of you with the SR 2.7 auto are you happy with the performance? I don't drive fast and I'm currently happy with my '00 2.7 manual except for going up grades. I would appreciate some feedback I'm gonna take a drive up north tomorrow and pull the trigger unless someone talks me out of it

I love my 2.7. It really has enough power for everything I need. It definitely isn't a huge fan of big hills or anything but it does great for everyday driving

    Too few to list.
Driving up north? Must be getting an SR 4x4 then. Only available up north. 2.7 is adequate. I was surprise how well it got up the Grapevine.

Just drove ours across the country from Oregon to Midwest and back. 4th gear pulled most hills except one or 2 really steep long ones required 3rd to keep it over 60. This was with a canopy, 265 tires, camping gear in the back.

Thanks for the quick replies. It is the 4x4 and its in central california. I am pretty happy with the OTD price I would quoted. I have hear a few things about the weird transmission issues, can someone elaborate. I know most of this info is available but I trust the guys on here so thanks for bearing with me and my stupid questions.

I live in Santa Barbara so its not super steep but we do have a couple mountain passes that I drive up semi regularly but your only going 30-50 so its not a big deal.

In my experience, the transmission always wants to shift up so in a LOT of situations I’m in the wrong gear when I want to merge on highway, pass someone... I’ve learned that you can’t be shy with the pedal...she will downshift normally when you learn like the points on the gas pedal... who doesn’t want more power?? Everyone... so let’s not talk about it.... I really like my truck.. I’m confident that it will last a LONG time.. the first car I’ve owned.. no regrets... well yes I didn’t get 4x4... I’m young... next truck in about 10 years: tundra 4x4.
