This would be my choice too if i didn't have 3 kids. I had a 1991 Ford F-150 in this configuration. I loved that truck.

I forgot about this one. Yep, my DCSB just barely fits with room for me to get around it to my shop area.

I've never been in a situation where I thought, "I really wish/need a long bed."

Your solution is to find a 1999-2004 4Runner and then get this Tacoma.

No matter what they say, long beds can crawl too. Initially wanted a short bed, but glad I have the long bed now. Can load more in to the bed. If you're tall like me you can sleep in it. Love my trail limo.

Simple the long bed isnt offered in a manual transmission. I wanted a manual and had to settle for the short bed. The minute they allow long bed manual trannys i will be switching.

short bed.....for my purposes its all i need. the only things i generally haul are skis and bikes just a fun moutain vehicle for me and way more practical than a jeep. also easier to park and maneuver short bed imho.....if i ever need toncarry something bigger i put the tailgate down and use ratchet straps

Everyones got their needs..... It's not like one is intrinsically better than the other, it's all about what you need the truck for. Congrats on the SB, trails and parking lots are easier I'm sure.

I have a SB because it's easy to maneuver & I can fit most stuff from the hardware store.

Until Toyota makes the bed 48" wide between the wheels wells a lot of folks will never buy a LB. it's a bit silly really, I think it's at 47" now. Could easily add an inch.

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to stack up sheets of plywood in the bed..... But then it would be even harder to fit in some of those tight spots off road.

Personally, I think complaints of the DCLB being really long are a bit exaggerated.

If you have a SB and are used to looking at those dimensions I could see how the LB would look pretty long.

I went long bed and haven't had any trouble on the trails. Obviously, the long bed is more functional from a truck perspective but it is a little more difficult to navigate around a cramped parking garage. That being said, I haven't hit anything so I guess its fine.

Also, one big thing for me is the way it looks proportionally. I feel like the longer bed helps to offset the ridiculously long snout on the truck.

It really isn't that big though. The AC/DCSB are already longer than most passenger cars.
