2350 miles, Auto, matching Leer cap [know it doesn't add much] Tow Package, no winters, salt, always garaged, paint unmarked, no scratches. All stock. Toyota extended warranty. [transferable] 31-32K?

Have looked through the dealer prices, all have 8-10X the miles.

Never found them to be much good when it comes to certain vehicles. When I sold my FJ I got MUCH more then Bluebook said it was worth.

No he wasn't, the market for certain vehicles, to include the FJ, supports it, it sold in a just a couple of days and I actually got more then I paid for it new. Guy was as happy as a clam and paid cash.

Dealers use NADA pricing. Not Kelly Blue Book.

If you've found a 2015 with 2,350 miles I'm impressed. Regardless of price.

I will say though that the 2015 DCSB TRD OR sold for $31-32k brand new on the Toyota lot in my town here in Montana. That didn't come with any extended warranty though.

I know this because I chose not to buy one and got a DCLB SR5 instead - I wanted the long bed. They had them priced the same.

If they guy paid more than new price for it then he absolutely was an idiot. But I guess if he is happy and has too much money that he doesn't care about more power to him.

4x4? If so then I'd buy it. I paid 29 after TTL for my 15 DCSB TRD OR 4x4 manual with 36k miles.

Dealers are likely to go more towards the NADA pricing, it's higher. Banks will lean towards KBB, lower for lending.

Really your best barometer is here, craigslist, ebay, dealers in your area.

If it was California, I bet it would sell at 30k, within a month. That low of mileage you could try to ask for more, but you're going to be waiting for the buyer that wants specifically a 2nd gen. Turd gens are selling for 32k, especially now that we're closing up on the year.

If this truck was at the dealer, I imagine it would be listed for around $29-31K.

If it's a 4x4 I consider a fair price in my area to be $28-29K. All depends on how bad you want it.

These vehicles have experienced very little depreciation at all.

Just bought a 2015 TRD OF DC 4x4 for $28k. Out the door in Socal was around 30k. With 40k miles. This was from Carmax.

I understand people in socal aren't very smart. Why pay way more than a vehicle is worth instead of going out of state to save a few thousand? Just people there are fools in one corner of the country doesn't mean the trucks are over valued everywhere.

I did some dealer searches within 100 miles and I was getting prices right around 30-31K with 16-30K miles. Then you add in Mi dealer fees and figure another couple hundred on top of that. A lot more sports for sale the OR TRDs by about 5-1 and SR5's for some reason seem to be mis-listed as some kind of TRD a lot of the time.

I'm the one thinking about selling, looking to go in another direction [or two] I either will go 4 runner or look for an old import [25 year exempt] Land Cruiser. Just don't drive it enough to justify keeping it and buying something else. [it has 23 hundred something miles on it right now]

Dealer fees I thought were for brand new cars. I never paid a dealer fee for my used Tacoma (could vary by state though).

If you don't drive it, sell it. Too much money to leave sitting there. Plus very low mileage vehicles over time tend to have more mechanical problems for non-use, so extra money out of your pocket.

    Sell to some lucky SOB!

It's a Michigan thing. It's just a way to pad the dealers pocket a bit more.

It's a great option when you have cash. Otherwise you get a loan from a big bank, adding ~2%(over what you could get at a local bank) APR for private party out of state purchase, add in flight, drive back or delivery, you'll pay just about the same if not more in the end.

2% extra out of state? What are you talking about? Bank doesn't care where you buy the vehicle.

Plane ticket under a hundred bucks. Gas and food, you are in under 500 total, to save thousands...

The rate wasn't specific to out of state, it had to be a big bank to go out state and they're private party loans start crazy high.

My local credit union gave me 2.99%, then I found an out of state truck but local credit union won't finance out of state vehicles (I have accounts at a few local banks and they won't deal with out of state or salvage title vehicles). I also have accounts with a national bank and got 3.99% for "auto loan" but being private party the rate starts at 6.87%.

So now it's a $24k truck (vs 27k local) + conservative $400 plane ticket to east cost, if I drive back myself I add 2600 miles to the truck and pay $400 in gas, sleep in the truck. $24k with 5k down, amortize the 19k at 6.87 and I pay about $2k more in interest. Truck totals in at ~26.8.

It can be a great option if the circumstances are right. Motorcycles are a great example, you can buy a Ducati 1098s from east coast for like $8k and they sell for $11-12k in the bay area, cost you about $600 to ship.

California restricts registration of vehicles within 2 model years of the current year if the vehicle isn't 50 state emissions. I don't know if there are 49 state tacomas but if there are then purchasing this vehicle out of state would be difficult. Also it's pretty damn hard to find a 2015 with this low mileage.

Edit to add: California is also surrounded by states where, from what I've heard, you have to pay a premium for a 4x4 TRDOR/Pro. If you save $2000 but the cheaper car is 1000 miles away, I'm not sure if you're saving money. It's surely a lot more hassle.
