Too late on this one, but yeah. OB FTW

    Tourniquet.

Self application types are best... buddy and self aid compatible.

Also, carry a few OB brand tampons with you. They are super small and can stop bleeding from GSW like none other.

Exactly always face an entrance my head is constantly looking over my shoulder in public. In a concert you are usually confined to a small space surrounded by thousands. The main thing is try to keep calm and execute a plan that you established before hand.

No. You can only get so tight with a belt or shirt. You need to completely occlude blood flow and that's the point of the windless on the NAR tourniquet, to get that last bit of pressure needed to stop the blood flow.

Always wear a belt. Even if you don't need it. A belt doubles as a tourniquet.

But it is better than nothing. Just stop the bleeding no matter how you do it, is basically what it comes down to.

A belt is better than nothing. I carried a TQ in Afghanistan but I don't usually carry one to the food store.

Yes, try to get 1" wide at a minimum... but just about anything will work. You just don't rant to "cut in" you want pressure. 2 fingers upstream of the wound, but not within 4 fingers from a joint. If joint is there, 4 fingers above it.

Material flat the limb and turn your stick until the bright red blood stops. Mark your victim with a "T" on the forehead at a minimum. If you can mark with date and time of application. If not tell your relief the time of application. ONLY A DOCTOR/TRAINED MEDICAL PERSON SHOULD REMOVE ONE.

If you can't get the blood to stop. Go 2 fingers north, and apply a second.

Most important. Reassure reassure reassure. Once the bleeding is stopped, inspect for more wounds.

There's so much to be had. And I could go on and on because this is one of the things that the general public NEEDS to know and it's so easy to teach.

Oh.. and take a solid first aid class or back country first aid course if you can. Teach the basics to your family and friends. Being the medic is no good when you are the causality.

My best worst day as a CLS was when our medic was unconscious and missing most of a left shoulder.

To this day I carry my old CLS bag when leaving the pavement, overstocked with what iffs of course.

Take 5min today and teach a young person to be tolerant of others and talk to them about coping skills for life's inevitable difficulties

Very true my biggest concern in a life threatening event would be the safety of my wife. Knowledge is key
