    ok so im in the market for kings. will be my first lift kit on my first truck.
    my real question is what to do with the rear?
    im wanting to do the build your own kit on the DSM website and very unsure on what each of the rear lift options offer?
    i obviously want the highest lift achievable with the kings set up but i also don't want to relocate shocks or anything crazy.

    the list i was wanting to order goes...
    front
    KING 2.5 remote resi
    total chaos UCA

    rear.
    KING 2.5 remote resi (ones listed for Dakar leaf pack)
    Dakar 2.75 leaf pack

    will this configuration cause rake?
    am i missing something else needed?
    has there been any problems with this setup?

    I'm used to a stiffer ride as I'm used to daily driving and autocross setup car.

    going to be running 285/70/17s
    any pictures of this setup?

    a lot of questions sorry just very excited:yay: lol

    A lot depends on how much lift you want. I just installed mine last week but kept it at or under 2.5 so I don't start running into CV angle problems. You might also consider @HeadStrong Off-Road. They will help and answer any questions you have. Marie is great an knows a lot...

    With full 3" you're going to have issues down the road with CV joints failures due to the extreme angle of the axles, same goes for the ball joints. Majority of the coilovers from King, Fox, ADS, Icon are designed with 2" of lift in mind. Any more is at your discretion. Also you'll have a small rake with the dakars. Last you're going to need to do the CMC aka Cab Mount Chop to clear the 285s from rubbing against the frame and wheel well.

    2.5" of lift in the front with Kings is the preferred max amount, anymore you limit your down travel of the suspesnion.

    I see a lot of people on the color specific pages saying they run 285s with no issue I won't be on stock wheels if that makes a difference. I don't mind trimming but I don't want to chop anything yet

    heh, I would say its 50/50 on whether you will need to trim or not. Most with no issues are driving in a straight line.

    Like I said I don't mind trimming but the guy above mentioned a cab mount chop?

    Majority of the people I've seen in person requires the CMC. A few don't. It's not like a 4Runner where you run 285s with no issues. You can run 275s but that not a common tire size or run the more popular 255/80 aka pizza cutter setup. You gotta pick your poison.

    I'm at 2.5 front running 275/70/17 with no rubbing. Only about a 1/2 inch shorter tire.

    i looked more into the cab mount chop and its not nearly as bad as i thought I'm definitely ok with doing that mod to run the tires

    Just be careful who's advice you buy. I would say people running 285s with no rub and no trimming are exceptional. The others either don't know how to test for rubbing or they don't go offroad and they are ok with that.
