I have an 06 Tacoma 6 speed manual. At first I had to push down on the emergency brake pretty hard to get the light to turn off, and while driving it would turn on and off. It did that for a while and now it's always on. I did some research but could only find that issue on previous generation tacomas. My brake fluid level is fine. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Is it a sensor or something? (The ABS light is NOT on) The parking brake light is the only light on.

There is a little plunger switch that gets pushed when it's on. Check that it isn't sticking

Is that plunger switch behind the panel that pops off where the brake lever goes in?

It's either there or if you follow the shaft of the t-handle down to the lever mechanism mounted on the floor, it might be down there. Can't remember exactly and can't get to my truck to check
