Would you be able to make one that you could mount a CO2 tank to, I believe it would have to be longer than the universal mount you have and would need a lip at the bottom the the CO2 tank to rest on. I have quick fists to mount mine but need a method for mount it to the rail. The CO2 system needs to mount standing up since that how it needs to be used, or else the liquid CO2 can get into the regulator. Potential new product? How much would 1 of those run?

For reference, I have the Instant Air Supply CO2 10lb system with quick fist mounts.

    http://www.instantairsupply.com/complete-systems/1-10lb-co2-kit.html

    Thank you.

I would probably need to get my hands on a tank to make sure that they work as intended before i try to sell them to people. But i think that it could be done, do you think that it would be better to have the tank sit on the bed floor rather than on a lip? I can notch the mounts to help hold it in place...

I need to do some measurements to see how tall the tank with the handle on top is to see if it would look weird sitting that low in the bed. Sitting on the bed floor may be ok. I mentioned the lip because the alternative mount made by powertank uses a lip system and other homemade examples had lips. There are examples without lips but they have a stronger metal strap instead of the quick fist straps. I dont believe they need to be as large as these mounts since quick fist wrap around the tank but the larger quick fist mounts will require a wider bed rail mount that the universal design. I would also not do a "full lip", I would think that a 1/2 or maybe even partial lip would suffice, just to keep the tank from sliding down. I can get my tank and take some pictures of it in the bed tomorrow to see how it looks on the bed floor vs hanging.

Another use for tank mounts could be propane and fire extinguishers as well. ;)

@Zac of all trades -- do you make a mount that goes up from the inside rail, out to the side of the truck flush on top of the bed rail and then up to support cross bars (80/20 likely)? I have the factory tri-fold tonneau and I am looking for a metal brace/bracket that will go from the inside rails and go to the outside to fit over the tonneau when folded up. I could talk with you about specific dimensions, but it is similar to what you've got, just with the z going up and out of the bed rather than inside for carrying things. Want to explore a project? What is your cost for a bit of custom work? I'd want to commission 4 identical brackets. Thanks!

I got called in to work early today and forgot to get a shot of the air tank. Will try to remember tomorrow morning.

I was able to get a rotopax mounted with my universal mounts! I am having an issue with the mounting bolts hitting the tank though. Also i found that there will be 2 different mounts, 1 for the side rails, and 1 for the head rails. This is due to the small kick out on the bed sides.

    Disclaimer...

These will not work with mounting the rotopax over the wheel well. Not sure if that is even a thing...

The mounted rotopax tank will block access to your storage boxes in the rear of your bed sides. ** I am designing the mounts to not block access, but when you mount your tank you will lose access.

EDIT: i am currently designing brackets that will not rub on the mounting bolts and will be a bit longer, this will make the possibility of mounting the rotopax horizontally under a bed cover.

I was incorrect. It could sit on the bed of the truck. So basically just need a wide, longer mount so you can mount the larger quickfist. Here are pictures. Thoughts?

Yeah i can do that. I think that you are going to need to buy a bed rail if you plan to mount it there though.... haha

Yeah, I havent decided on the exact location yet. I am thinking of mounting some xbull traction mats there and I dont think the CO2 tank will fit there also. I will have to play with the back vs side of the bed mounts.

Got a picture with the measurement for the quickfist mount. ~5.875" of mounting surface.

Are you wanting to attach 2 quick fists to the brackets or just 1?

Id like to use the 2 quickfist. Id like it to be somewhat secure, given the contents and cost. I also plan to add a lock and probably a cover to keep dust out of the connectors.
