Magnuson Supercharger

Okay, I don't mind you listening to whoever you prefer. Like I said earlier; it's just my opinion.
Though I would like you to be right, because I want a S/C asap. Just not optimistic about the timeframe.

 

No worries man not hating. Just reporting what I was told from the horse's mouth. I plan to get the 5th gen 4Runner blower so that's why I want to spread the word. Cheers

A supercharger is Sand shark approved.

 

Only way I would pay that is if it got at least 50% increase.

 

Good news is that by mid next year my account will finally have recovered from the rest of my build...

Magnuson said no more supercharger group buys after the one they did last year for 2nd gens, at least that's what the guys were told in that thread when they tried asking about another one. Who knows though, where there's enough demand anything is possible.

 

Re gear would be cheaper and a top proity imo if adding all that weight.

Hmmmm ok well let's hope a change of heart down the road I don't mind the price TBH. I figure if you're going to spend thousands for suspension, might as well make the engine happy too

 

I spoke to two Magnuson techs at the off road expo in Pomona this last weekend. They said a 3.5L charger should be available by late spring 2018.

 

Both would be amazing.

 

I'd be happy if it was close to 340+ to the wheels... a previous poster said the 4Runner was at 336 to the wheels, that would be really nice

I am guessing closer to 300 to the wheels on a standard 6psi pulley.

 

Hmmmm, I'm really hoping for more but whatever they come out with I will definitely take the seat of my pants test just to see how it feels and if the price is worth it

well the Magnuson/TRD unit on the Tundra made an extra 164hp to the crank which is about 30% over stock. Then there was about a 20% powertrain loss to the wheels (440ish).

Applying that same formula to the Tacoma would leave us about 290hp to the wheels which is what it looks like the SC got for the 4.0 as well.

This is by no means overly scientific and I understand the engines are different designs but from a marketing standpoint I would think this is going to be Magnuson's target.
