As always, if you don't care about what I have to say, stop reading now ....

I want to preface this by stating VERY clearly who I'm talking to. 2 people: the person who "reported" me as being racist and the mod who banned me for "racial shit".

I can be polished, unemotional and politically correct at times but this is not one of them so if you are offended then that was my intent.

Who is the ignorant, irrational, sensitive coward who accused me of saying something racist, effectively labeling me as a racist, and working towards banning me with zero context, perspective or care for who I am, what I said and how I said it and not allowing me to defend myself or explain myself in any manner? Please, don't be shy now. There were a handful of new people who entered this thread within a few days of my ban so I assume it's pretty easy to narrow down but i won't go looking for you. Unlike you, I choose to give you the opportunity to defend yourself against something I didn't agree with.

To the mod who banned me for "racial shit", with all do respect, and I do mean ALL DO RESPECT, your actions were just as much, if not more, out of ignorance and cowardice. If there is an issue or a problem it should be brought to light and talked about to hopefully resolve, not buried and made disappear as if nothing ever happened and all is ok. It clearly was not. I have zero respect for a system where a person in an authoritative position can publicly shame, falsely label and indisputably banish someone without even as little as letting that person know that's what they are doing. You knew I'd be back in 7 days. Here I am, ready to talk.

So let's talk about my post that contained "racial shit" and go me banned. I'll go through it piece by piece and break it down for you.

* "Hi my name is Gideon." This is a fact and NOT "racial shit".

* "I live in Memphis" This is a fact and NOT "racial shit".

* "and im black." This is a partial fact and NOT "racial shit".

* "I would post a pic of my truck but it may or may not be stolen" This is an unclear statement with no context of meaning and NOT "racial shit".

* "and they may or may not be looking for me ..." This is an unclear statement with no context of meaning and NOT "racial shit".

* "white power" This is an unclear statement with no context of meaning and NOT "racial shit".

Now I could explain what that all meant and where it was derived from but why do that AFTER I've already been punished, publically shamed and falsely labelled as a "racist". The damage has been done. At this point, the best I can do for some people is just not return.

Now I can't say this has all been a bad experience. It's reminded me that social media is a cruel, fucked up place to try and mentally live in and its been a teaching moment to my 8 year old son that people can call you names, make false claims about you and try and destroy your character but that doesn't mean it's true. I teach him to ignore the meaningless shit but ALWAYS stand up for the things he believes in and ALWAYS defend his character and who he is as a human being.

Now if either one of you fine, fine gentleman (I use this very loosely) want to talk, I'll be here, in public space, ready to talk. I have no desire to make this private as it's far beyond a private matter at this point. I love this place and most of the people that exist in it so a ban is not my goal but if that's how it is then that's how it is and I'll just take that loss in my life.
