yea seems like everyone in cali has it made if u have these trucks, thats the only place the fab shops existt too. and they all act like its so simple to install their parts, because they do it every day. everyone else is like whaaaat is this? and have to call them and get talked through it.

Toyota of Newnan, Ga did mine with ZERO hassle whatsoever. I bought the truck a month ago and was hauling 20 bags of concrete and noticed that it sagged quite a bit in the back. Took it in and told them.....they ordered the parts and had it fixed in 2 days. The ride is great! A little stiffer, but worth it if you plan to haul....well ...anything.

HIGHLY recommend this dealership. I wish more would treat their customers like they did with me. I also had the infamous creaky clutch pedal. They drove it and said, ""DUDE...THAT IS ANNOYING"....and put the 09' clutch assembly on it for me as warranty work. Again...good service...and now a glowing review on this board!

    A few bolts are different.
Got some new light on this TSB for us guys out of warranty or not on the list yet!
Kinda a long explination but this may help alot of us!!!!

Just got off the phone with Toyota service (phone # on first page of owners manual) So this is what i was told. First off I want to clarify that my truck is an 05 with 56,000 miles so I knew I was barking up a tall tree by calling, but hey I was curious. The lady on the phone was very nice unlike the service rep at my dealership, that guy should get a roundhouse kick to the face!, all i did was explain what was happening. "when i put a load in the back any heavier then 500 pounds is seems like there is significant sagging in the rear springs, sometimes bottoming out and the ride is rough, it only gets worse with more weight." The lady asks whats your VIN #, Well sir there is no recall on your vehicle but I'll record the problem because Toyota likes to keep up with any and all complaints. Well thats great.
Here is where a little light is shed. I tell her that "I have noticed the problem since shortly after i purchased the truck in 05 and didnt know anything could be done about it, just thought thats how it was but seemed like a week load capacity." "I recently was on a Toyota forum where some people were noticing the same problems, I think they were calling it a rear suspension TSB,".... she looks it up on the computer and sure enough she says yes sir there is a technical service bullitin concerning your complaint. Unfortunatly this bullitin only pertains to in warranty trucks (we all know this). she then tells me "the good thing is your case has been recorded along with all of the symptoms, concerns and complaints you have told me so if and/or when Toyota decides they have enough complaints from everyone to do something you will be notified" "if you or your friends know anyone with the same problem have them call and we will document it and give them a case number as well!!!!"....and just like that my eyes lit up and now i'm typing. So the fact is, the way i understand it, if there are enough complaints Toyota may right their wrong even if out of warranty......lets be smart about this! no mass calling to Toyota in one day!!!

I just bought my 05 Tacoma and since I haven't towed anything yet I haven't noticed the harsh ride in the back. But I would still like to go ahead and get this TSB done.

-I have 51,000miles but have the extended warranty... I just sent in the paperwork to get it transfered into my name 3 days ago. That means this will be done 100% free, right?
-The rear of my truck squeaks and the best I can tell it is coming from the leaf springs, so this should be fixed also, right?
-How much will it cost for me to get the front shocks to even out the ride height?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Anyone else think it's interesting that Toyota hasn't added the 08's to this yet?

Yeah...I'm going to the stealership on Tues. to show them the old stock numbers on my springs. Will have TSB in hand and ask for it to be done. The 08's should have already been put on the TSB. Toyota is dropping the ball on this one.

others have said the 09s still have the three pack. The TSB calls for a 4 pack. If you have 3 hours to kill, do a rear spring TSB search on TW.

yea i went up to my stealership and they shut me down. so i emailed, and got the run around, over the past few back and forth emails with them. so... my last email reply to them was, can u answer me this. how many 05's do u think are still going to be under warranty , i asked them to honestly answer that, after telling them , it did not come out until 07, so how many 05's do they think are still going to be under warranty to get this. i told them it shouldnt matter with the 05's, warranty should be extended for them. havent heard from them again but in one of their mails , they did say it would be documented and bla bla bla.

well they wouldnt help me one bit, so i asked toyota how many 05s did they really expect to still be under warranty being as the tsb came out in 07. they answered with a bullshit salesman type lie, they said most of them should be , being as the way they calculate how many miles per year the average driver should put on a car.
so i bought to add a leaves(one short one from skyjacker and one long one from wheelersoffroad) and have rear skyjacker hydro shocks which are designed for up to about 3" of lift i think. and it rides like a dream now.
