    HAHAHAHA I was wondering how long it would take for people to realize those locks don't do shit when you double them up. You have to add something so they cannot rotate. I did this to mine because of that very reason and I wouldn't trust 5/16 all-thread to hold 40lbs of gas/plastic bouncing around the desert.

    OP,
    Fuck rotopax, they suck, get plastic Scepter MFCs if you can find them. I've got both and whenever the rotopax fail I won't bother replacing them. A couple weeks ago this topic came up in the overland thread and I don't think anyone had much positive to say about rotopax.

    I have the pelfreybilt high clearance with swingoutvwith the rotopax. Rotopax suck. They are small, take for ever to pour into your gas tank and the swell up like a balloon. Mine actually punctured it's self with the lock mechanism and dumped all 3 gallons of fuel. No good. Going to hit up pelfrey for the scepter mount. I already have 2 scepter fuel cans and 1 water can. Don't waste your time or money on the rotopax.

    I’ll give a +1 to the Wavians. Bought one prior to the hurricane crap and got to use it. Works great I just need to get a hold of a Swiss Army spout. The CARB one is garbage, and gets itself stuck in the filler neck when you pour, which I think is by design so it opens up the spout but it took a good yank to get the damn thing out (2 piece spout).

    just so you know the scepter tanks balloon up a lot also. I run them still and have never had a issue, but they do expand a shit load.

    ALL plastic cans will swell, then when they cool off, they suck moisture laden air in, leaving water in your expensive fuel. The cycle repeats daily. Stabilizer won't help.
    I have 8 Wavians. 3 are dedicated for generator fuel storage w/stabilizer, which I rotate out after 12-18 months. Never any water in the can. Pour the last cup or so into a tall thin clear glass container like a glass tumbler, you can see any water on the bottom.
    Forget the EPA spout, get 6' of 1/2"idX5/8"od clear plastic hose, put a full can on the bedrail, siphon away. It will empty in 2 min. :thumbsup:

    I built a rack to haul 6 cans in the front of the bed, out of 1X4 treated lumber and some drywall screws. Cans stay put, empty or full, with nothing more than a cable passed through the handles and a lock at one end. Bed drains normally. When I see cheap gas, I stock up.

    Having storage allows you to wait for cheaper gas prices, grocery store points, whatever. My wife's car hasn't seen a gas pump in years.

    https://www.roverparts.com/ has the vavians. Only way to go IMO. You can get these without the stupid epa spout if you order the water cans which are exactly the same as the regular fuel cans.The spout is the only thing that makes them epa friendly or what ever. They dump fast.GJC001 is the spout I like it works with any of the wavian cans.
