I've only got a little over 600 miles on my Limited, about half is highway. Doing the old fashioned way of calculating after fillup, I'm seeing 20-21MPG. I think that is great. That is just a little under what I was getting with my 08 2WD 4cyl Ranger. A lot more power and weight and 4WD to boot. I'm very pleased. Oh yeah, around town, it's easy cruising and on the road pretty much 70mph dialed in with the cruise control.

I average high 21's to low 22's on mostly NH state highways not may stop lights I see 1 on my ~18mi commute. I am not a conservative driver, so I am sure I can get better - stock Sport MT

My truck, now that it's a year old, this summer was doing 23-24 highway, 65-70 mph, no wind. Then I drive at 50 mph for 20 minutes then shut the truck off and it says 26.5 mpg. It's all about the wind with these trucks.

GMC trucks are re-trimmed / badged Chevy's. Developed so other GM lines could have a truck to sell in their dealerships.

What makes them any different today, other than cosmetics and a few more standard widgets?

Just getting ready to hit 1000 miles on my 2017 TRDOR, 3.5 automatic. 16-17 mpg in town or interstate...doesn't seem to make a difference so far. I don't drive hard or fast so I'm not real pleased with mpg's. Was hoping for 18-20 minimum. Stock tires, no engine or exhaust mods. 87 octane. Driving in town and interstate, no fast starts or over 80mph.

Mine definitely picked up a few mpg as it broke in. Best when new was 23. Now with 3000 miles 24.5. Best i ever did with my 2013 2.7 mt was 25.6.
Only losing a couple mpg going from the 4 to a much better truck with a 6, I'm thrilled.

So what do you say to those of us who have no issues with their transmissions or anything else on our trucks? I guess we wasted money on our slushbox too. Because you bought an MT you are automatically superior even though your choice doesn't work for everyone? I was one of the few who tested both before buying. There were no MT's within 4 hours so I drove 8 hours in one day so I could do a test drive. I didn't like the shifter position and considering it was further forward it aggravated an old shoulder injury. If I went MT it would have made me hate the truck each and every day so the auto made the most sense to me. So I made the right choice for ME just like you made the right choice for YOU.

Some guys always pick the low hanging fruit because they can't make a better arguement.

Bone stock 2017 DCSB OR AT. 31 lb TPMS cold, 34 warm. 87 gas.

17.9 mpg tank avg. consistently... though I can get 20 when I drive on eggshells.

Half of the mileage mileage is 4-lane hwy and 1.5 miles of 40 mile round-trip commute is on dirt road driveway, some of that in 4WD High (to prevent spinning & washboards). Plus I play a little in 4WD low for woods, ROW and driveway maintenance. No hardcore wheeling, just USFS & GA DNR fire roads on the weekends.

Inner city and off-road I usually run ECT PWR mode. I am happy with the mileage due to the mix of road/driving conditions. I share the truck & commute with wife and daughter, so we all end up driving it equally, though I'm the only one who runs 4WD low.

We have 2 other cars but both are in the shop ATM. '98 Subaru Impreza Outback 288K miles, getting timing/water pump/head gasket and an axle. Beater car that is going to the teen daughter. Chevy Cruze is getting body work & alignment (wifey seriously needs a backup camera!). Cruze gets great mileage, easily 30+... (so good I don't even check). Subie's mpg not so great, but definitely 25+.

When the fleet is complete, I get to drive the truck more, though hopefully it will be driven less overall.

Been getting tank avgs over 23 mpg since spring. Even did 40 miles at 28mpg before. Sounds like a driving/modification issue to me.

Yep! With the Magnuson heartbeat kit, some ARH 1 7/8" headers and a circle d triple disc billet converter! Lol.

In my taco ('17 pro) it's mostly stock and I do 95% city driving all I get is about 16mpg.

What octane gas are you running, and what tire pressure (cold/hot)?

My all time average over 30,000KM is 20.6 mpg (11.4L/100KM) doing mixed driving.

Considering I'm using 87 vs the 93 in my old Subaru, the fuel cost is about The same

Same as me, but my mileage is way lower. Could be the tonneau cover. Could be my routes and terrain... lots of hills and curves here in NW GA/SE TN. Plus I do a lot of woods and driveway work on the weekends.

Averaging close to 24mpg's over the last 7,000 miles. Truck has some quirks but gas milage isn't one of them

Than you are one of the few lucky ones who didnt get an automatic with issues and thats a good thing. Ive drove so many terrible automatics in my opinion they are slushboxes. There isnt any reason to get mad about it.
