For an SR5? A little high maybe. But in my experience that's pretty ballpark. Big reason why I chose to buy new... Wasn't much cost difference. Tacoma's hold their value better than any other car.

It's a TRD OR not just an SR5. I've been looking at a lot of 2012/3s between 25-27k around here so I don't think it's too far off, just a bit high. Going to check it out tonight and see if I can work them to 30k out the door, maybe 31k.. I know it's close to new pricing but I can't stand the 3rd gen drive train, I love everything else about them but I don't want buyers remorse so I'll stick with the tried and true. My original budget was 25k so I'm already 5 over, a new 3rd gen would set me far over that after tax, etc

Just bought a 14 TRD sport, DCLB. 41k kms. Paid 35k out the door. Seems insane but after 2 yrs of looking I have found these to hold their value in the insane category in the Pacific Northwest. A few more thousand and I would have had a stock new Taco. Just seems that the second gen are far more popular here, and the 3rds are showing up in volumes used at the dealership. Second gen gets driven off the lot the day they are put up. 4 2nd gen went the day I bought mine and none of em were there for more than a week.

Jesus. I paid $1k less when I bought my 13 dcsb sport brand new. I guess they hold their value.

Ya it's kind of rediculous, I almost wish I never caught the taco bug haha. Any tips on trying to negotiate them down to 30k out the door?

If itll take em a while to move it (If everyone in you're area buys full size trucks) you got that to throw at em. But if they are popular, good luck. From what I've seen any dealer with a used tacoma holds out for that blue book retail value because they know if you walk someone will come right after you and pick it up.

That dosent mean don't try to get em down, be firm but not a jackass, express what you don't like about the vehicle or if there are any minor issues with the condition, then express how important those are to you. Good luck!!

I paid somewhere around $26-27k for my dcsb. 2015, 57k. About the same options, tow package, manual, etc. New my truck would've been $34-35k with those options. Autos are a few thousand cheaper than a manual

Yeah, but then you're stuck with a third gen. I'd gladly pay more for a USED second gen than a NEW third gen. Op's got his head in the right place.

I always thought autos were more expensive than manuals? These 2nd gens sell like hot cakes out here in Phoenix, I'll be lucky if they wiggle at all

Autos are definitely more expensive than manuals actually.

Naw seems like a fair price.

Now that doesn't mean you walk in the door and say "I'll take it!". Always negotiate lol

I wouldn't do it. It's a bit high. A few months ago I bought my 2012 TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB with nav and tow package for $24.5k. Had 63k miles but still. An access cab SR5 should go for a less than 30k man.
