    How did you connect/tap into tail light wiring? Or did you leave it as a dash switch?
    I know there is a crimp that goes on wire ends and then clips over wire to cut into and make a connection. Just looking for options..
    Reverse lights don't do a good job with the topper I have and I don't think just replacing factory tail lights with led's will make enough of a difference for me.

    There's a write up on here that replaces the bulbs with GY6.35 bulbs. You'll have to squeeze the connectors a bit in the socket but the lights fit. I was using 50W without any issues but some had reported some socket damage and the consensus is to run 35W bulbs. Plenty of light with that mod.

    I put in the Deauto LED reverse light bulbs and put 120 LED switchback LED bulbs in the turn signals. When I drop it in reverse, it's like having 4 headlights on the back of the truck. It lights up everything behind the truck and straight out to the sides. Some people think the Deauto LEDs are too expensive. Every time I drop it in reverse and people have to look away, it's worth every dollar. The added bonus is that with 60 amber LEDs per side, there is no doubt to people behind you that you are turning. Plainly obvious from several blocks away.

    Thanks to all who replied.
    Went in search of a slim led light bar from local stores and came up empty. Ended up getting some led replacements for factory reverse lights.

    Still going to find the right slim led bar to use as extra light if needed and for a work light when loading/unloading boat in dark. Got an idea up my sleeve for a slick mounting location.. might have already been done but I have never seen it. Going to pull the third brake light off topper since its not being used and put a 6-8" single row bar in its place (if i can find one that is a flood light with the right mounts).

    I hope you didn't buy the Sylvania LEDs from your local auto parts store. If you ordered the Deauto bulbs, I can assure you that you will be blown away by how much light they put out.

    My Tacoma had the factory tow package and I tapped into the backup lamp circuit at the seven way connector for my LED aux lamp. No switch, light goes on when I'm in reverse. Very bright "flood" pattern.back up light.jpg

Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    Those LED's are cool looking. :thumbsup:

    What is the brand name/manufacturer of those slim line LED lights?

    Can you post pictures of them in use, such as in a dark road with them on then off?

    @Muddinfun
    Yea, I went cheap and quick because im tired of not being able to see well behind me when backing up.. they have to be better than what was already there..

    @jbrnigan
    I will have to consider hooking in the way you did.. torn on having a switch for varied use though..

    Nope. They're junk. Of all the money I've spent on my Taco, the only purchases I regret are the Sylvania LEDs. They're sitting on my desk now as a reminder to always do research before buying. Although some people praise the Home Depot bulbs, I'm telling you, the Deauto LEDs put out a ton of BLINDING light.

    Reverse Light.jpg These are attached to the towing package reverse light circuit. It shares the fuse for the regular back-up lights so no advantage power wise.

    Is that protective mount something you made or came with that light?

    I have a pair of Crees waiting to install. While I don't off road in very harsh conditions, I wouldn't mind having a bit of protection for them.
