How easy is it to find 3.4L tacoma engines with low miles and in good condition?? and what would be the price?? reason I ask is I found a taco with the things I want, only thing is it has 250k miles which is really high for my liking. Im wondering if it would be economical to buy it, drive it for 50-75000 miles and then change the engine.

With the amount of tacos being crushed for rust damage, im thinking maybe it's not too hard to find an engine from a dealer up north? or are they forced to crush them and not sell the motors??? if so that's a shame.

Were the engines the same from 95-04??? if not what were the differences? which will fir 01-04?

what's the engine code on these things?

In all first gens the 3.4L v6 is the same "correct me if im wrong" and the are fairly easy to come by Toyota made so many of these engines and on average I probably see 1 every one or two months on craigslist.

There were some differences with the earlier 5vz engines compared to the later (02-04) models, but I can't recall what they were at the moment.

Do you have any idea what a LC built engine would run?

Im in the process of re building mine as we speak. I think its cheaper to rebuild what you got ,if you have the resources, then to go buy a new one.
