Manual transmission Fan Club and BS thread (All Generations Welcome)

I got a 2017. In November last year. Took 3 years. But I like this truck. Only thing I would change. Is a 4.0.

There was a couple of minor things I found with the automatic that I didn't like. It ran decent, but I was constantly using the S mode to control my shift points, and it had no pickup in 5th or 6th gear.
My first truck was a '98 Ext Cab 4x4 5 speed, and it never let me down.

 

Holy crap. And, we were trying to negotiate prices for a lot less than that. That's when we said screw it and started shopping new.

Good job, other than the pain of the collision.

BTW, we had the finance guy arguing with us over gap insurance. He was saying that we'd loose 20% driving it off the lot. It's not like I haven't seen the used prices! Ha!

 

The whole ordeal was 3 years long. Just say I paid cash for the 2017. No car payment. The resale on these things are crazy.

 

That is where I was at my Wife's Forester XT. A constant frustration to drive. Great motor connected to a horrid CVT.

I just refuse to drive that thing as much as possible.

I was going onto almost a year with a not-at-fault collision with my Ural. The other party's insurance (Liberty Mutual) was crap. I had to get my folks involved.

 

The resale is insane, I traded in my 2016 for a 2017 Manual, difference in price was right around $4,000, w/ 25,000 miles on my trade in.

 

I would only be tempted if I would be able to pay the same amount or less, manual, and quicksand...

 

Oh man ur good. And 1 day I rode it to long and smoking. But it still was good. Shit u have a long time.

 

Canada does not get that option. Toyota does not offer any configuration of double cab and 6' bed, anywhere.

 

I believe Uganda gets that option.

It was the amount of options compared to GM that brought me to Toyota. At the time, the Canyonrado only had the 4 & 5 cyl, and you weren't getting stick with the 5 cyl.

 

I think I paid 32,600 OTD. Pull the trigger !

 

Been noticing an odd "catching" noise when I let out the clutch pedal usually in 1st gear as it binds...and I start moving. I usually hear it if the windows are down. The noise can be described as a shovel scraping concrete but very quickly and quietly. Anyone else have this noise when the clutch engages?

 

Thankfully no noise on mine.
