Is the 12volt unit the only true plug and play kit available?

As far as I know it is, I chose it for that exact reason.

My service advisor told me Toyota is putting them on the new 2018's as a factory add on so it should not be long before we can get one for our SR & SR5 Tacoma's

The truck still shuts off when a door is opened right? Still no take-over option to keep the truck running when you get in to drive away?

The 12v solutions requires the use of an additional remote. Just FYI. Really wish someone would make a plug and play version utilizing the stock h key for out trucks.

Yeah I'm waiting on the ones they are putting factory in the 2018 Tacoma's. Service advisor don't it will be to long before we can them. I would not mind utilizing the "panic" button to start the truck....

Haha that would be awesome. That will probably be the route I wil go unless someone comes up with something better that is plug and play, and uses factory remote. I'm not sure why us H key guys got left behind on this. Multiple options for push start, but none for us almost two years later. @nickj718

You have an H key or push start?
Nothing plug and play is made for H key trucks that does not require the use of an additional remote. How do you like the 12v solutions system?

Only downside on this is that it doesn’t feature “take over.”

Your car will turn off when the door(s) are opened. So basically, you’ll have to start it twice.

I have the the push start. I like the system, I also added the SmartStart so that I can start my car from pretty much anywhere.

That is true but Toyota and Honda both have that and it can't be bypassed.

Exactly the features I want, but plug and play, without an additional remote. My key pokes enough hole in my pocket as is.

I totally get it, I didn't want any additional key fobs or anything else hanging off my keychain.

How does that connect to the 12volt setup? Did you purchase the smartstart from 12volt?

I hooked up my 12 volt remote start yesterday and it isn't working. Installation was easy, but when I hit the lock button 3 times, the red led starts flashing and taco no go.:(

ETA. This fixed the problem. :D
