    It's a static environment vs a dynamic one. One where people can gather information together easily on social media vs one where you're simply passing by and nobody cares to notice or take the effort to write it down. In an online setting you've done the work for them. You've given them a plate number, a general location, and a good looking truck. All they have to do is plug it in and get an address. I didn't care before I started featuring my kids in photos. I have an IG account where the whole point is to show the trips my son and I take. There's fucked up people out there. Obscuring a plate is a small and easy precaution I can take to help secure his privacy and safety while still posting pictures. If I'm deliberately posting a photo, I'll take the time blur the LP as a courtesy. The driver may care or they may not. But no one's going to get upset over taking out their license.

    Stalked pictures do not have kids, so no one is giving away addresses of kids. As for someone wanting to steal vehicle, someone can easily take pics of all the nice vehicles passing by on the road, get addresses online, then steal them.
