Hello, I just spent my first full day with my new Toyota. Dealed on and purchased a 2010 Tacoma Access Cab TRD Sport. The truck is really nice. I had a bit of fun haggling with the dealers and in the end I feel like I might have done well for myself.
I had to trade in my dream car for this truck...a 2008 VW GTI. I had more need for a truck but am still trying to get over my old car...she sure had more zip than the truck. I know I'll get over my loss as soon as I am able to really do 'truck' things. At any rate, hello Tacoma World. I look forward to learning a lot from y'all.

    Thank you,
    Jeremy

Not a sports car but I think being to see so much better over and around traffic in the truck is worth the trade off. I moved on from a Volvo turbo and could not be happier.

Thank you for all of the 'encouragement!' I know this truck will end up being the best vehicle I've owned for many reasons, mostly because of versatility and resale value (that is, if I resell it!) I agree, sitting up even with and above the traffic is a great feeling, instead of sitting down below everyone.

rraabb11, my truck is a 4x4...and I ended up doing $27,800 on the vehicle. They had $30,9XX on the sticker and showed me an invoice of $28,8XX. I do not believe this is the correct invoice $$ but they wouldn't budge when I called them out on it. I fought my way all the way up to the General Sales Manager and after a nice chat (truthfully, not sarcastically) we agreed on my price, he gave me a little more trade-in value, and I was able to snag 4.49%.
All things considered, TRD Sport, 4x4, Tow Package, the upgraded 7 speaker stereo (which I could have cared less about and truthfully wish it wasn't installed, the 'flux capacitor' in the back is hideous), Hood deflector, the extra front skid plate (not the factory mounted one), floor mats and door sill protectors, and it even had a 'TRD Chrome Exhaust Tip' option added to the sticker (another thing I really didn't care if it was on or not), I feel like I did a good job. It sounds like some on here have been able to get a better price than mine, but as in life not all things are created equal.

Now begins the constant drooling over the extras I want to start adding. I was always bummed out that I didn't get to do the things I wanted on my GTI, but I had been holding myself back just in case I decided to get a truck. Now that it is done, I shall start the modding. First up, all the quick and easy, and more importantly cheap/free, mods I can find.

    Any suggestions?

    JER

If that's a dealer install hood deflector you might want to take if off before you damage your hood. It's known to wear the paint off.

    Thank you for the welcome.

So whats the deal with hood deflector? Chipping paint eh...I guess i'll have to find a better one to use as a replacement. I'm assuming it is dealer installed...I'm pretty sure they don't install those at 'port' or at the factory, right?

they way those hood deflectors go on, over time they will continuously rub on your hood and eventually rub the paint off!

Not to mention hood deflectors catch all kinds of crap down in them ... like leaves and pine needles. And small children.
