Hello ya'll, i've been considering adding some new parts for my rear suspension. At the moment I have some OME 887's with Bilstein 5100's in front (getting approx 2.5'), the rear I still have the stock TRD Off-Road bilstein shocks, but due to the 1.5' block I added they have lost their utility due to the over-extension. I was considering adding some OME Nitrochargers for the the rear as well as a TAC-AL - ToyTec Rear add-a-leaf, because I believe my setup has a 2+1 leaf package and by just having 5 passengers the truck already feels saggy. What do you all think??

Replace the leaf pack with the Dakar leaf springs instead of an AAL. Why not go with 5100s in the rear too?

Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road can get you a setup that works well with what you've already done up front.

I was suggested OME over billies, not sure i want to spend $400+ on new leaf springs atm. Maybe later on i will change the whole kit. What could i expect from that aal besides 1-2' in height?

You can expect to be $100+ further away from a new leaf pack. The stock leaf pack is not up to handling any extra payload and an AAL is just a band-aid. That said, there are plenty of people on here that run an AAL. PM Marie and she can guide you to something that'll work and meets your budget but if you can scrape up a few hundred more and get a new leaf pack it'll be worth it IMO.

AAL is a mistake on a Tacoma if you still have the factory leaf springs. They are very well known for sagging when the truck has weight on it. Drive around town and look at trucks with toppers on them. Most of them the rear end appears lower (even if slightly) than the front. Then bear in mind that brand new these trucks usually sit high in the back. Toyota's leaf springs are garbage.

All an Add A Leaf does it stack more springs on top of the factory ones. So when the factory ones go bad... there's goes the foundation under your house so to speak.

A single AAL is ~$70 and a fine option. I ran mine for a few months until a great deal on some second hand dakars came alone. I had ~600 lbs in the back constantly, and it barely sagged. I know this isn't sustainable for a really long time, but for an occasional load they'll be just fine.

OP, what year is your truck? You should see if you're eligible for a new leaf pack to get a 3+1.

Here it is all loaded up. There's also ~300 lbs in the bed from my spare tire, gas can, tools, platform system, etc.

Its a 2012 DC. I asked at my local dealership and they said no, might try the next closest dealership before buying the whole leaf pack.

Try plugging your VIN in the website. That'll give you a definitive answer.

My TSB leaf pack was installed a year ago. I then added an AAL, then a topper/cap. Now the ass is drooping. It sat fine initially. I keep the rubber mat and some fishing tackle back there as well. So I'm looking for a better leaf pack. Also, the AAL has always ridden really bad. Just my experience with it. Measured it today. I have a full 3 inch lift in the front, and 2.5 AAL and a shim in the rear. The rear is sitting over an inch lower now when it should be a little higher.

That's exactly what I'm doing EL095R except I ordered the 5125 instead. New 5100s on front though.

On my 15 I have a icon aal have me 1.5 in the rear. I don’t haul much so this was a better option for me it is stiffer than stock but rides better on/offroad.
