Lol I know the feeling, kinda.
I was looking for a 2nd Gen and ended up buying a 3rd Gen. Not even a week later I've already spent $2,500 in parts. I need to slow my roll.

I thought I'd protect her first before lifting.

I did the same thing. Got ALL the armour first. Then the lift.

thats probably a good idea. once you get the armor figured out, you can then size your springs up front according to how much weight you have

All of the guys said heavy bumper with winch and all the armour needed 700lb springs. And it was the right call.

I was considering these, but didn't want to spend any more money after buying my armor... https://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/d/2005-to-2015-toyota-tacoma/6310875600.html
they would be too heavy of a spring for what I'm doing, BUT calidevildoc has the same 886 coils with no bumper and no winch. He said he doesn't have a harsh ride.

and since I just bought my 5100s like 3/4 months go and put only 3000/4000 miles on them, I should be happy with what I've got

I'd definitely get the UCA so you can get your alignment 100%.

Just for reference I had 885 and 90021 on my 2005. Rode fantastic. No armor though.

@EatSleepTacos has basically my truck. I have an access cab, same Gen, BUT I dont have bumper or winch. I don't think the 886 are for me. I'd be more in the range of 884 or 885.

would definitely need the UCAs though. what UCAs are you running, Randy?

I had the Camburg with the Moog ball joints. I didn't want uni ball for durability. Don't trust uniball to last through many winter's as much as a sealed MOOG.

I ordered the same set for my '16.

I see. good to know. I know nothing about UCAs and ball joint versus uniball. looks like I'll be leaning BJ when I am finally ready to upgrade my suspension.

    Oem!

edit: To clarify (because I answered when I had just woken up) I didn't feel the need for UCAs. Ideally I would run them, but there are other things on my truck I'd rather spend $500 on. I'm around 2.75" of lift on 884s (before all the weight) and the alignment guy was able to get 1.56* of caster. It's not great, but not terrible either and the truck drives fine enough. There's no arguing that UCAs make alignment and driving better, but IMO they're not a necessity.
