I have the opportunity to buy a 2007 4wd access cab tacoma. It is an automatic v6 with 198k miles on it. It is in fair condition nothing special. It is a TX truck so no rust issues. What would a truck like this be worth and more importantly how many miles can you get out of these trucks. Really just wanting to use it for a hunting and running around town truck. thanks

The early '05-'06 4.0's had a few cases with blown head gaskets. So you should be in clear on that. The 1GR is generally pretty robust. Do you have any idea of it's service history?

I just bought a 2007 v6 auto quad cab with 188,000 original owner non smoker for 9500.00. The guy said he had never done anything but change the oil. I am going over it this weekend. Tires were bald and it has the abs light on. I saw two torn boots on each half shaft.

There is a 2005 quad cab in Arkansas Craigslist that has 132,000 v6 auto for 12,500. It's that bright blue nice looking truck but not my color. Best deal I have seen personally

As already mentioned, an 07 should put you in the clear of the 05-06 head gasket issue. Only other thing to look for would be a leaking timing chain cover, usually down near the power steering pump.

    This.

How long a truck lasts depends on how it was cared for.

I have an 05 DCSB 4.0L TRD OR 145k miles. I bought new with 3 miles on it. No issues with engine.
Never had a blown head gasket as mentioned in previous posts.
