Good idea as we both basically have the same truck and no strange noises like that going on in mine.

It's very faint and I can usually only hear it when starting in first and listening for it. I can't remember if it's cold starts only. I'll test tomorrow

I've heard the same sound only when cold (Only 500 miles, so not broken in). I'll have them take a look when serviced. But chalking it up as probably normal, and not to worried as my wrangler makes the same faint sound when cold.

I'm at 6k miles if that makes any difference. I'll see if I'm able to reproduce a video of it.

Have the day off so went driving around today... I had the video on record as I was ready to pull out of my garage and didn't make the noise, of course. Haha But as I go to park the truck in the parking lot at my gym(which is on an incline... I notice the noise. So I think it's because the truck is slowly rolling in neutral either back or forwards and the *clutch disk catches* it makes that noise which makes sense. If it's at a complete stand still and I go forward it doesn't make the sound. Can anyone confirm this noise or am I overthinking? Haha

Quick video I took coming on my driveway. Only time I can replicate is uphill as the truck is moving backwards. You can hear it all 3 times I roll back and start moving forward. It's very subtle.

Isn't it only the sport that is equipped with that? I could be mistaken.

interesting. I thought all the M/T's had it. I semi feel like I'm cheating with it now that other models don't have it haha.

Not 100% sure, definitely not on the Off Road or Pro, it's on the Sport but may also be on the SR.

Interesting question, and obvious caveat that certain gears are better for certain situations.
1st (in 3rd gen) seems really low, but great for crawling along in traffic. 3rd is a great cruising around town gear. I think you were pointing out how versatile it is. I agree.

In this 3rd gen, i really love 2nd. This 3.5L really seem to do best when you push it into the power band (around 3300-4000 rpms in mine) Second gets me in that range quickly and then i like to hold it there (and listen to the satisfying exhaust sounds) for a bit before hitting 3rd.

This was my answer to someone who said one had to have a long bed to do manly things that real men do. Thought it might fit your query. Ok, so i was being a little silly...

yes and reverse is unreal. I wish it was the same as first, because I feel like you have to ride the clutch to reverse...

Still not in manual though. That's the only thing I meant, no manual transmissions in DCLB's, anywhere

So I pushed the button on my overhead console, brought her up a little off idle, let the clutch out faster than usual, and laid into the gas as I went through the next 3 gears. '17 Sport V6 MT. It was a much more impressive experience than I expected, I must say.
