Beasty SumoSprings?

As far as I know these guys will fit 2nd gen and 3rd gen without issue as the rear suspension is very similar. What do you guys think? I'm all for more payload.

 

I think the general difference is just overall stiffness... Can anyone confirm?

 

I believe the Yellows are for the Tundra. If you just put them in the Tacoma it may be too stiff.

The Tacoma Sumos are purple. I didn't like them when I had mine in. Even with the camper shell. They bounce too hard. Maybe with better than stock shocks that can control the fast rebound of them. it would feel better.

ssr-610-40) which I believe are the "softer" of the sumospring options for the Tacoma. They raised the rear by about a half inch (may have settled a bit) and they do make for a stiff ride in the back. It's bearable, but noticeable. I wouldn't want anything stiffer than these for sure.

 

agree with this. i have the same, and i have a Hellwig rear sway bar back there as well, so i need to have handling balanced with these. anything firmer would remove suspension compliance too much.

 

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I certainly don't want to ruin the ride of the truck or cause safety issues. I was just a little perplexed as to why I saw the SSR-610-54's on their list of compatible bushings. 2800 pounds pay load is probably a little overkill anyway. haha
