Received my 5100/885/Deaver aal Kit from HeadStrong Off-Road this week and installed it tonight. I definitely regret not getting the new top mounts preinstalled from HS. Along with them I got the JBA High Caster UCAs because I prefer the non adjustable arms. I have no measurements just pictures but I’m thoroughly pleased with the setup!

Installed my lift last night. Took me about 6 hours total and that was learning as I go. Had more issues with the rear than the front but that was due to my own error. Glad it’s done. Had my tires mounted on factory wheels this morning. 5100’s with 885’s. Spidertrax 1.5” spacers. 285/75/16 Hercules Terra Trac M/T. Only driven about 15 miles on the setup but so far so good. Some rubbing but I think it’s the little plastic flap at the front of the wheel well.

Ugh... I'm so confused now. I started out wanting reinforcement on my plans to go full OME 3" with 885's..now after reading all this... I don't know..lol o_O Here's why I am doing the lift...
My 03 sr5 TuRD ext cab needs REAR shocks for sure. I can't pull my 6x10 tilt trailer without something on it because of it dancing all over the road..The truck is basically riding on the leaf springs..its has a very soft ride. A lot of nose dipping when breaking and it rolls side to side around curves..
I've pulled it with my wife's '16 4-runner and it doesn't move around a bit.
If I am going to replace shocks I am going to go ahead and put a lift (no more than 3") on it. I cant just do a block and spacer lift because I KNOW I need shocks.
I don't take it off-road (trail riding. I do take it off the pavement from time to time, just no abusing it). The tires I am currently running are 265/75/16's. They do rub at full lock on a decline.
    QUESTION:
Will I be fine just running a 3" spacer up front and new 5100's in the rear for no more than I do off-road?
If so, it would save me Kardashian sized butt loads of money..:D
Sorry for the long post but, I've been looking at setups and suspension kits for 3 weeks now and I'm in too deep..ha ha Thanks guys and... gals?

It's a little different for first gens, so 885s may not be your coil of choice. As far as replacing everything, I'd recommend it. Your truck is 14 years old, and your suspension is needing replacement. I'd get new shocks all around, some coils and a new leaf pack if you can swing it. 5100s all around, dakars in the rear and OME coils up front will run you $1,000. Worth it to me to do it right the first time and not have your truck all over the road.

Was scared someone would say that.. lol
I kinda figured the leafs/leaves were gonna need replacing from shocks being tired for who knows how long. I've only had the truck for 15k miles. Got it last December. Been a super truck but, always been a little wishy washy on the side to side movement. Rides outstanding in a straight line though. Here in west tn a straight line is hard to come by alot of the time. So a full 3" OME or 5100's with 884's (guessing my stock coils are tired too) and a set of leaf packs (according to remaining budget of whatever the wife let's me spend). The truck only has like 140k miles on it. Not bad for an 03..

Look into lifts for a 1st gem before buying anything. I believe first gens use 882 coils or something like that.
Better yet call headstrong off road. Marie will help you with any questions you have and will direct you to the best options for you

Thanks 99taco. Another thing that I found strange.
I was looking at the $700 fabtech basic coilover kit 0-3.5" and the notes said that trucks with automatic locking hubs can only be lifted up to 2" with that kit unless you have manual hubs ,then it was fine I guess. Anyone know why that is?

Not really but I'm pretty sure its just a CYA for the additional wear the CVs take.

    Hey Johnathan,
I pull a trailer also and my setup works perfectly.
I recommend doing it right the first time. I had AAL's and they did not cut it. Now I have OME spring pacs :) 015 DCSB 4x4 TRD OR, 2 1/2 " lift, Bilstein 5100's OME 885X's and OME Dakar CS047R Leaf Packs and OME CB drop kit.
I also pull a trailer, I have an extra 200 .lbs of weight due to my shell. If you want stability all around I recommend installing leaf packs in the back and longer shocks.
This kit will make you feel safe when pulling a trailer and carring a heavy load.

Marie at Headstrong will help you out.

Can you use 884 with 5100's on a 3rd Gen to stay around 1.5" of lift or is 885 the smallest you can go?

You could go 884. I'm not sure how much lift that'll give you, but you can run them.
