    I was considering this.

But I really just want the ones trail toyz makes. Well what they said they'll make for 3rd gens.

They make a aspherical mirror for the 2nd gens where the outter and lower portion is aspherical. So you get same benefit and can see your rear wheels.

Aspherical are way better than convex

As someone who has done this rav4 swap... I'd go a different direction if I had it to do over.

    Yeah.
First, probably a good quarter view of the blind spot mirror is of the mirror housing itself.
Also, as mentioned, you can't see the rear tires which is handy for parking and avoiding curbs.
Thirdly, it is almost a see what is directly next to you mirror as it does work well for blind spots, but if you have your mirrors set properly, your field of view is almost out to far.

It does what it says well, its just not what I was hoping for. It works well on the highway and merging for example. I just wish it was adjustable, or showed more of the ground. All my other experiences with blind spot mirrors gave me an all around view where this is more waist up type of view.

If I was to do it again, i'd get a set of $7 frameless stick on bubbles and get everything these do, but also get a ground view. I have often contemplated just doing that to the Rav mirrors. But i'm stubborn and pot committed at this point, so I deal with it and silently stew...

yep, remember when the company I worked for in the past gave me the old work van and it had those things, made it useless.

Very reason I prefer aspherical mirrors over convex.
My jetta had aspherical until they got all rusted looking behind and couldn't see anything anymore so had to replace them and couldn't get the aspherical again. But when I had them they were amazing for blind spot view and still all around view.

I really hope trail toyz makes some soon. they would be perfect, not just for parking etc but great while wheeling

I did mine today as well and agree that it does not enhance your groundview because it is in the upper corner. Looks like I will have to keep relying on the camera to backup.

It works really well on the highway though and I don't mind the quarter that it takes up because that part of the mirror didn't contribute that much to driving before the swap in my opinion. I do think you could get more out of the bubble mirror; it just won't look as oem.

I had thought about tapping an amber alarm led and running it inside the cabin for the blind spot light. I don't like that it's all the way on the outside of the mirror. That way I can run the rav4 mirrors and keep the integrity of the system.
