Hot Dawg, it's Christmas on TW with all the trucks being returned to owners...:broccoli:

My dealer just called and asked if I was ready to get my truck back. My only response was, "Hell Yeah, I'm ready".
So, couple hours to clean it up, and they should have my Beloved Taco back to me.

So they replaced my rear shocks for free, and did everything they were supposed to. I found a couple trim bolts/pins missing but other than that it's golden.
The steering is ALOT tighter. New lower control arms with bushings and cam bolts, brake lines, engine mount bolts, and other miscellaneous bolts that broke.
I found I need a new carrier bearing but after searching high and low, I can't find much else other than needing some aftermarket control arms to compensate for my lift.
    Loving It.

Nice. My newfound steering tightness is a blessing and a curse, it's nice to have a bit more precision, but now I really feel the slightly warped brake rotors I have. :(

Yes! Every little thing that is going out or already there seems to be magnified by the new frame.
Brake rotors are in the near future for me. The fins of the originals are slam full of rust scale.

Brought my truck back to the dealership today. They plugged in the driving/fog lights and adjusted the rear brakes. All is now well.
Talked to the two technicians who performed the frame swap. I shook their hand and thanked them for their hard work. They told me frame swaps is all they do, 14 hours a day, 3 days on 3 days off. And I chastised the service manager about the filthy dirty condition they gave it back to me. He said he's trying to get the dealer to authorize a P/O to add to the work the send the truck out for a wash. He said the salesmen have control over the car wash employee and won't share him, maybe the service dept. has to hire their own washer.
    I'm very happy today.

So what additional work should I have the dealership do if they replace my frame? 2007 w/ 90K hard miles. Here is what I am thinking, assuming they present a reasonable quote for clutch labor:

    - clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing (flywheel TBD)
    - rear main seal
    - serpentine and S/C belt (easy at home...much easier with the motor pulled)
    - engine front mounts (bushing, left and right)
    - Transmission mount rear

I am not convinced the following things need to be done, but let me know if you think otherwise:
    - release fork on clutch
    - crankshaft seal
    - water pump

Let me know what you think.

Why do you think that you need a clutch?

I cannot push hard on my accelerator in any gear without the clutch slipping and the engine revving high while lacking power transfer to the drive train. I've actually been babying the clutch for the last year because it's worn out, but refused to put money into the truck until I knew it wasn't going to be making an early trip to the junkyard with a rusted out frame. This has sucked, because it is absolutely conflicts with my reasons for installing the supercharger...ha ha.

My happiness with my new old truck only lasted a couple of days. Driving down the highway a car in front of me threw up a rock cracking my windshield. An online quote say $169.00 plus tax and recycling fees.

Would having a drop-bracket lift installed void me of having a frame replacement?

It shouldn't unless you have galvanic corrosion caused by dissimilar metals of the frame and lift kit that are the cause of a failed frame inspection. I had sliders welded onto my frame. The service advisor came over to me kind of scratching his head saying they couldn't transfer my running boards to a new frame. I politely smiled and told him no problem. The dealership said nothing about the sliders nullifying the opportunity for a frame replacement. The worst rust areas on my frame are nowhere near my sliders.

Ahh okay. Cause I know my front cross member has been cut/drilled so I dont know how they would go about changing the frame out. I guess they just wouldn't re-install the lift? I have mostly de-lamination issues on the side rails which isnt close to the drop bracket at all. But I dont think de-lamination counts as a "10mm perforation"

The dealership wants the frame replacement for business, but they aren't going to put your lift back on for free. They will charge you their $100+/hr rate for anything beyond a standard frame replacement. You need to figure out if you want to pay the dealership big $$ to install your current lift or if you want to go back to stock if you still have the parts.

Lucky for me I kept everything from my install. Will Delamination of metal be cause for a replacement? Or do I have to have a literal hole in my frame in order to qualify
