I really like my Taco, and know I picked the best option at the time I needed to make the purchase.
I have been around for a lot of years, and my gut tells me Ford will be coming to the table with something good.
So in 25 years or so, when I am ready for a new truck, I might have to take one out for a test drive.....

If you like swallowing big loads, get yourself a Ridgeline.
If you like hauling big loads, get a Tacoma.

I expect the ford to be the closest competitor if marketed right but it's only real problem would be cutting into the F150 sales. Most people I see leaving Tacomas are moving into F150s.

Going to be interesting to see if consumers see the Ranger as a good choice compared to the value of the full size.

"The ridgeline is having a slow and painful death."
"But it won all the car comparison tests."

Most of those Rags that review cars don't have to live with the car/truck. Buyers that spend money most know something, just look at the sales figures, it would be different if they were close.

It's like buyers of full size trucks, Lot of different ones sold, but go look at work sites and see what people use, It's usually a Ford.

When I drove the Ridgeline and drive me neighborR/L , I feel like its a car or at best a Japanese 4 door "El Camino"

I defiantly like the feeling of a frame underneath me.
I like the one comparison test on youtube where they abandon the Ridgeline because of Transmission overheating warning.

If I want to take the wife out to dinner, I take the 911 or with friends we take the MB. When I daily drive, I'm using the Taco

With the new Jeep and Ford coming, it will be interesting to see how it goes. I'm sure sales will drop, but every time someone brings a new mid size to market it doesn't seem like the can sustain any real momentum. I personally think the Jeep truck will be the biggest competitor, not the Ford.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
The jeep is overpriced and under quality. Doesn't help it's a fiat. The ford may be good, but if it's the same design as non USA versions now, it looks more ridgeline than truck. Couldn't do it myself.

And the ridge line... not sure what's uglier: ridgeline, crosstour, Acura front ends, or the new civic type r. :puke:

I've only seen one on the road. I got dark tint, so he couldn't see me, but the poor sap was eyeing my Taco hard. Strong envy. I was afraid he might hit a bump in the road and his backend would break apart.

Doesn't stop people from buying anything that says Jeep on it now, why would that change with a new truck model?

I agree with your whole post though.

I agree, the new Ford is ugly as sin and reminds me of a ridgeline. I don't know what the fuck Ford was thinking with that rear end.
