First time posting on this thread so here we go. I just picked up my new truck on Monday morning. I got the windows tinted yesterday (Huper Optik 20% all around) because I hate the fishbowl effect and have driven my previous car with tints my whole driving career. Today I plastiderp'd the front grill and emblems in addition to installing a Ram Mount onto the dash for my phone (Universal X-Grip with a regular ball clamp and a diamond base secured with 30lb. 3M double stick tape.) I'm waiting on a buddy to come over for some beers and to install a Pop 'N Lock. That's it for tonight. Just waiting for AVS in-channel visors to come in tomorrow.

Pop off the trim and take it to a shermin-williams paint store and they can color match it

Well your on your way to spending thousands with all the mods you’ll find on here. Trust me I thought I bought a great truck until I saw all the trucks on here.

I've been lurking on the forums since before the 2016 came out. My research is done and I have a list of mods already. I'm going to try to keep the truck "stock" for now. I'll try to wait out at least a year before anything suspension/mechanical. The truck is capable of anything I'll want to throw at it within the next year. But the mod bug will slowly bite...

Are you and I the only ones that like these? Does it cover the hole for the spare tire mechanism? What brand and size please? I like it.

My bed mat keeps things dry when the little bit of water gets in. Not enough to cause any regrets getting mine.

    Edit - +1 what @ToyoDrew said.

Oh, one other advantage of a rigid style tonneau cover (Bak X2 holds 400 lbs fyi) is that you have a place to put whatever you're carrying until you can open the door. Like Chipotle, groceries or even a case of your favorite brewskies.

It depends on the light hitting it. It looks silver in some light and a light shade of gun metal in other light.

Exact same. 5100's on all 4 corners. 0.65 front settings. Dead level.

So many questions... Exactly what is it, where did you get it, and how much was it. I need to dust my instrument cluster, but microfiber just scratched the shit out of it. I've been meaning to pick up a can of compressed air, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Yes, this question. I upgraded to the JBL system after my first Taco was totaled 8 days after I bought it. I think it sounds pretty good, but I wonder if I made the right decision, maybe I should have gone factory and upgraded the speakers, although I'm not sure the boss would let me upgrade the speakers either way.

That looks like a good looking jack for Harbor Freight. I will have to check them out. Did you get the add on warranty. I used to sell the crap out of those things. I watched some college (diesel tech program) kids buy one. They ran over it with a truck, came in to exchange it, I was like I don't know about that, they showed me the warranty paper work, and I said, "let me call up a new one". I told them, its a good thing you bought the idiot insurance, now tell me the real story, you're getting a new one either way, but this has to have a great story behind it. Needless to say alcohol was involved.

Everyone's ears are different, so if you like you're system, then yes, you made the right decision. :)

I had the standard speakers and my buddy has the JBL upgrade. I ended putting in Type-R door speakers and 2 Type-R 8's in the back behind the rear seat. keeping the stock deck with a line out converter supported by two amps under the driver and passenger seat. My buddy w/ the JBL likes my set up better. I use my truck for work driving long distances so loud music is a must and my stocks weren't cutting it. Mind you it was probably one the most expensive mods I did to my rig but I do not regret it at all, even with losing what little space I had behind the rear seats.
