Front 8" third from LC will be a high pinion diff, which requires a reverse cut gear. A rear taco/t4r factory elocker is a standard pinion diff. You can not install reverse cut gear on a standard diff.

Rear LC 9.5" elocker diff will not mod into mini axle!

HP will be a better suit diff for the front due to ground clearance but the rear elocker will do just fine. Just watch where you point.

You plan on running ifs hub with 2/3" wheel spacers? Mini axle width are too short for taco width.

Elocker mod front diff are common setup on older and original first/second gen truck. Most builder go aftermarket axle and steer clear of the mini on the taco.

That looks like an FZJ80 front axle, you can tell because of the offset diff. It's a pretty stout unit, factory trussed front and rear. Rear one is cooler as it is a 9.5" diff and full floating. My front locker in my FZJ80 is that one that's still working tho lol, my rear one is seized.

No way the housing is a fjz80, just look at it. It's a mini axle mod to fit elocker.

Not all FZJ80s had front lockers, but the definite way to tell is WMS length.

yes I'm aware that not all LC came with factory elocker. I was once a FZJ owner. Also built plenty of mini axle first gen crawler and second gen SAS.

All LC are coil setup, why would it have factory leaf spring perch (top and bottom side *only mini do on passenger side*) Op wouldn't buy a LC axle and weld on factory mini lower shock mount, I would hope not.

Hey op @mechanicjon chine in. Is the axle a fj or mini?

Chill out brotha, I was wondering about the coil situation too, figured since everything was nice, fresh and shiny someone decided to SAS on the cheap and go leafs.

Just trying to clarify the difference between LC axle to mini. You seemed very sure it's a LC on your post and I'm sure it's not. That's it.

There, I added a "looks like". The LC axle would be a better width for the Taco, hopefully that's what it is but either way it's not life and death, hopefully I didn't confuse other members :p:rofl:

No its a mini Axle 1994 truck. I'm not up on the SAS stuff so I'm not up on width required.

What are people normally running for a Taco SAS?

Cool idea, I like it! Also, unrelated, but what rear bumper is that, or is it homemade? I don't recognize it.
