Hello everybody, I was inspired and came up with this idea a few days ago by a post that Nick @Blais03 put in the NE BS thread. Nicks post was of a camping trip that he had made this year in which one of his pictures was of a beautiful waterfall. So my idea/plan is to make a exploration trip in which we visit 2 to 3 waterfalls a day for a long weekend when the schools get out for the summer in the end of June 2018.

    Nick's inspirational picture
    [IMG]

I'm still working out the logistics on the exact locations. Like I said before, I want to make this so we can see 2 to 3 waterfalls a day for a 3 day weekend with camping on Fri and Sat night. I figure this is a great way to get together with other local TW'ers who enjoy the outdoors plus the camping together is inspired to me by how people from TW get together from other parts of the country. Lastly I am starting this now so that anyone who is interested can have/make time to join in as well as give input for the planning of this trip

I will be continuously updating this post as needed and post # 2 will be for the actual details/route of the trip

EDIT; The date for the trip is June 22nd-24th

Wow guys I am just blow away with the responses and the turnout of this trip. My wife and I want to thank everyone that came along and participated in this event. We had a great time and hope to do something again sometime! Thank you everybody!

Post Trip Edit, June 26th; Since the trip is over I put in some pictures of the trip here for people to see (people started posting pictures on page 125). I will keep the Timelines unchanged if in case anyone else wants to do the trip

I had booked the night before the tour at the Quality Inn in Quechee as the meeting location is right across the street.

    Quality Inn at Quechee Gorge
    5817 Woodstock Rd.,
    Quechee, VT, US, 05059
    +1 (802) 295-7600

Lot's of other people did too and a bunch of us had dinner together right next door to the hotel (pic by @Grand dude )

There is nice view of the Gorge from a nearby bridge and it's a short hike to the gorge from the Visitors Center if you want to hike the trail (we did it the day before).

Day 1; On our 1st day we visited 3 waterfalls with most of them having a very easy hike to them. The meeting place was at the Visitors Center at Quechee Gorge, V.T. across the street from the Quality Inn @ 9:30 am.

The 1st destination of the day was at the Moss Glen Falls in Granville, VT.

From there we went to Bartlett Falls in Bristol, VT. It has a huge pool at the base!

This is where we learned that one member had a problem with a wheel bearing (pic by @Grand dude )

3rd stop was at the Ben & Jerry's factory for a treat.

The 4th stop was at Moss Glen Falls (yes the same name as the 1st one but a different place) in Stowe VT

The end of the day was camping @ Brewster River Campground. (1st picture by @Grand dude ). We had to skip the last waterfall that we had planned because of the time spent diagnosing and making calls for the bad wheel bearing
    [IMG]

This is also where we had fixed the bad bearing that Nick @Blais03 had but so be it, anything to help one of us out

Timeline --- 1st; Leave from Quechee at 10am to go to Moss Glen Falls (Granville, VT)(49 mi, drive time 1hr) arrive there by 11am stay until 11:30. 2nd; Moss Glen to Bartlett Falls (19 mi, 35 min). This is a big area for swimming plus for people to have lunch so we be arriving by 12:15 and leaving at 2pm. 3rd; Bartlette Falls to Ben & Jerry's (35 mi, 55 min) arrive at 3pm leave by 4pm. 4th; Ben & Jerry's to Moss Glenn (Stowe, VT)(13 mi, 25 min) get there by 4:30 leave by 5. 5th; Moss Glen to Bingham Falls (11 mi, 20 min) 20 min hike in so 5:30 to 6:30. 6th; Bingham Falls to Brewster River Campground (9 mi, 20 min) arrive for 7pm.

Please remember that these times are approximate and we will try to keep them to the best of our ability. Thanks

Day 2; For the 2nd day our 1st stop was at Swiftwater Falls in Bath, NH. It was the smallest waterfall we saw this trip but I wanted to stop here because it's on the way to others plus it has a pool that people could swim in and most importantly is that it's right at a covered bridge (IDK how many of you have not seen a covered bridge but they are sort of an iconic feature of northern New England).

Our 2nd stop was the Falls on the Basin, Cascades Trail. It's 3 named waterfalls on a short 1 mile walk. It gets pretty busy because it's easy to access right off the highway but it gets spread out so it doesn't interfere with seeing it.

The 3rd and final place was Profile Falls in Bristol NH. It's got a nice size waterfall, swimming, hiking/mountain biking trails and fishing (basically anything that an outdoors person would want to do) plus it's also where we camped for the night. We did a pot luck dinner that night too. Too bad it was raining but we had an awesome time anyways!

And videos of some of the waterfalls here
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...anza-june-22-24.513653/page-140#post-18120382

Timeline --- I'll put the distances in later. 1st; Campground to Swiftwater falls. (2hrs) Leave campground @ 9am arrive by 11am. 2nd; Swiftwater to Falls on the Basin (1hr) leave at 12pm arrive @ 1pm. 3rd; Falls on the Basin to Profile Falls (45 min) leave @ 3pm arrive by 3:45-4pm.

Please remember that these times are approximate and we will try to keep them to the best of our ability. Thanks

Remember there is no fee for camping for the 2nd night as I was able to obtain a permit to do it. Because of this I ask everyone to please, please, please remember to bring trash bags as this will be a carry in and carry out stop, so we need to take out all the trash with us as we leave (I hope to leave this place cleaner when we leave than when we get there). Also there are no rest rooms available however there will be a porta-potty at this site that we can use as needed.

The trip was a total blast! Thanks for looking!

If you have any questions please comment in the thread

Lol, when I typed that last night I thought about you too (not creepy, just that I remember you saying you don't camp). We should have an exact route by the time it comes so if anybody wants to book a room they will know what area to look in.
With that said, the camping part is much more than sleeping in a tent/RTT/whatever. There is cooking (some people really make awesome food!) and campfires with plenty of drinking and hanging around telling stories with friends. I am looking forward to the camping as much as I am looking forward to the waterfalls!!!
I hadn't thought of ENH for this trip, I'll look into it thanks. There are also a few other websites that I already found that I will be using as resources as well
