Well, since Merrick doesn't want the 6 damaged, that's the one I'll be playing with. We'll let him flop the one with the cage.

Made a bit of progress over the past couple of days. The 60 is assembled to the point that I can get it under the truck as of tonight.

I had to cut half of the old spring perch off in order to get the lower link mounts installed.

Once I had the knuckles on the C's I discovered that one of the bolts on the high steer arms interfered with the C, so I'll only be running the 4 bolts. I had to clearance the arm as well.

Looks good! Question though.. Why are you putting the upper link mounts so far in towards the center of the truck? I would think you'd want them as far out as possible

Those are the lower link mounts. The further in I put them the more tire clearance and triangulation I get.

Mounting the lowers narrower at the frame end counteracts roll steer otherwise called oversteer.

As an example picture that the links are parallel to each other when viewed from the top, but higher at the frame end than the axle end, imagine them at 45 deg to the ground. When the suspension compresses on one side the axle on that side moves forward. So imagine taking a left hand turn, the weight shifts to the passenger side compressing the suspension, the passenger side of the axle moves forward and now the vehicle steers more sharply to the left, this is oversteer and makes the handling scary.

Triangulating the lowers counteracts this, the best way to picture it is if the links were mounted to the same point in the center of the vehicle then the axle always stays at the same distance, like the circle at the bottom of a cone.

I tacked in the lower link brackets on the axle and mocked up the links today. Looking at the space I have available for the upper link is depressing.

This is where I've decided to place the axle. I have lots of trimming to do.

Were you planning on running the upper on the DS or PS? I would recommend putting your axle at full stuff to mock the upper (if you weren't planning to already).
