So I want to upgrade my suspension... But I am unsure what I have currently thus I don't know what to get. The rear looks like it may be lifted but I don't know enough about Tacomas. I don't want to lift it any more than it is as it is my DD and I already have an offroad rig.
Since I won't lift it I was thinking Bilstein 4600 all around. Can someone look at these pics and tell me a bit more about my current setup?

The biggest problem I am running up against is if I already have a lift or not or if stock height components (shocks/struts/coils/etc) will be what I need.

Everything there looks stock to me... 4600's are a good all-around shock, or many people on here will recommend the 5100's which are very similar. You may also want to consider getting new leafs and coils if that's within the budget, since what you have looks pretty worn out.

I agree. May want to do it in steps like the front first with adjustable coilovers so you can sit even with the old rearend and later the new one.

That's exactly the information I'm looking for. I want to get new coils springs and leafs... but yeah, budget. I definitely need to get new shocks/struts, mine are toast.
Front coilovers run about a grand or more for a set as far as I can tell. That is half my budget to fix this up (I just bought this and doing fluid changes, fixing slight electrical, u-joints, etc).
I NEED shocks and struts for sure though. I WANT new coils and leafpacks.
I like the idea of coilovers but think it might be wasted on this rig (dd, forest road, very little hard core trails).
Are there quality aftermarket coils that offer stock ride height? I see Moog and AC Delco but for quality named brands I see most have at least a 1.5" lift.

1.5" of lift in the front would basically level your truck out in the end, but until you get new leafs, it'll be stinkbugging a bit if you do it in stages and wait on the rear :p

There appears to be an add-a-leaf in the rear. Looks pretty level to me.
Definitely replace the shocks, though. If you don't want or need a lift, just go with stock height replacement shocks, retaining the front coils springs.

These trucks do pretty well offroad, in stock configuration, especially if you good AT tires, air down to about 20psi, and add some armor.

There are 5 springs on the leaf pack. Not sure what stock is.

OME 880 springs are worth looking at if you want minimal to no lift. You can pair those with either 5100's or OME shocks up front.

I think that stock is 4 leafs including the overload. Looks like you have an AAL in there as well

stock is 3+1. you do have a 4th in there which would be a mild AAL (1.5").

stock coils are resilient but they do start to sink over time. unfortunately there are not many aftermarket that give you progressive rate springs like OEM.

Good to know about the AAL. I thought it looked a little lifted in the rear but MAN those springs look worn.

Missed the AAL the first time :p

As @boostedka said, the 880's are good, but you will still net 1.5 or so inches of lift from them.
